I have made a game and it is called
Bob Goes Home

I was wondering if I should polish it up by putting in new backgrounds and characters and put it on AGS game site. Is the idea worth it?
Thanks.

I don't think you should touch it up. Just get it posted if you've put the time and effort to create it in the first place :)

I couldn't finish it in five-ten minutes. I found the knife and then I couldn't find what to do with it.

Anyway, if you don't have any other idea for a game, it's worth making it better.

I don't mind the graphics, although the overhead view with Roger, is pretty bizzare. What I do mind is problems with hotspots and everything. While trying to figure out what to do with the knife, I wasn't getting any response from Roger-Bob. If you want to correct some small stuff like this, then go ahead and post it in the finished game forum.

It is your game and you worked for it. You should be proud no matter what! :)

I did put a bit of time into it. I Ã, just didn't know if it was good enough for the AGS games site. Have you already played it? ??? That was fast.

I have something else that I don't know if I should complete. It is a new project thast I haven't seen anyone trying on AGS yet so I thought it would be original. It is a "movie" so if you have a bit of time, what do you think? It is cut up into sections so it is fairly easy to navigate. It is called
Hell's Satans

Thanks

Ok. I saw the movie.

One thing you have to take care is that there is too much walking. And with ten people, it takes time to empty the screen. I mean, in Liams house, towards the end, I had to wait almost 2 minutes for all ten to leave and then I had to wait a little more for Liam to leave.

Another thing is that they all have the same uniform. This I persume is done on purpose.

The good stuff: I like the sprites and the animation. Simple but effective. I don't know a lot about the story, it seems a bit cliche, but then again what isn't? And while I thought that it is a silence game with no sound, like Bob, I heard the noise when the wall appeared. That was kind of creapy. I wasn't expecting that, and this is something that can be used, further, if you understand what I mean. The throat noise, made by you, I suppose, seemed like a young boy. Maybe you should put some where an indication of how old are all these children, as the voice sounded like 13-15 years old, but if they're doing all that stuff they could be 17-18, and thus much more "grown ups".

Anyway thumbs up. It is not of high quality but it's alway good that you're trying.

It needs work, but it seems that you've worked on both...

I suppose there is a lot of walking, but there is not really any other way. I could just make it "Display" saying they walked but it would take out of a bit, I reckon.

They are meant to be wearing a school uniform.

I decided I might have some sound in it, while not overloading with audio. I don't really understand what you mean, but are you suggesting I make it with a slight horror theme? ???
They are actually 13-15 years old but are taking the responsibility of older people, and are acting more "grown up" in your terms.

Thanks a lot.

So what do people think about the new idea of making "movies" with AGS. I just want some feedback so I know if I should finish it or not.

That it's not especially new. It's been bouncing around for longer than I've been here - at one point someone was working on a weekly AGS 'TV show' idea (although I think he's since left the forums). I don't think anythink's ever really come of it though - do a search to check.

As for your film - I couldn't be bothered watching it, sorry. I sat through day 1 & was just too bored to continue. There's some potential there, certainly, but currently it's dull to look at, the dialogue & narration seem like stuff you'd shove in until you can come up with something better, and having to wait through 10 people doing the exact same thing in sequence will get really grating (maybe you could use background speech & non-blocking movement/animation, to get them moving together).

Which isn't to say you shouldn't bother with it. AGS movies are a good idea (if not entirely new), and yours does have potential, if you're willing to put the time into polishing it up.
I know what you're thinking ... Don't think that.

It was ok till it went to the top down view and ego was still a side view?
Would of been better to have a top down view of ego and maybe just have the whole movie the same as the start =IE a movie doesn't let you do anything so why have us able to move ego?
