Title: Keiko's Adventures Artwork
Post by: on Wed 10/09/2003 22:07:13
Hey guys, I have been working on some new art recently for a strange game named "Keiko's Adventures". From the pic below, you can tell I'm a big fan of Homestar Runner and I think the model looks pretty good! :D

Basically, I need ideas on how to improve it. 1 thing on my list is to double the thickness of the outline as he looks a bit sharp at the moment. Also, i'm looking for someone to do voice-overs and someone to do art/animating (if no one is here to animate, I guess i'll have to do it myself...

Anyway, hit me with all the c&c you've got! hehe.

Yo Raven, I really like the oddness of it...well I've never seen anything like it I mean.  It's really good, but what is that yellow thing? It looks like a banana so I hope it is! heh.  :) I can't animate for you, it's hard enough for me to animate my own characters.  Voice overs could be a possibility, it would depend on where you're going with the game...but that could be fun! ^^

Moresco, goto http://www.homestarrunner.com to see my inspiration and twin! :P

I'm doing a few items at the moment, then some backgrounds. Animating is a problem but the fact that my character has no arms should make it a little easier. :P

If you could do voice-overs, that would be great! Although I guess i'll have to prove that it'd be worth it, don't I?

And the last thing Moresco, your artwork is looking great! Keep up the good work, love the backgrounds! :)

Hey thanks Keiko :) My backgrounds are frustrating. What I'd really like to do is take a scene in my head & draw it.  I can't do that yet, everything is based off something else.  Really think it'd be better if I could avoid having to do that...but i dunno.

Yes arms are good! Heh, and the link is cool, but I don't think I get it yet.  Voice overs are no problem, but yah, sorta need to finish those arms first heh. ^^

My new name rocks! :P I'm probably gonna leave the arms off as it's part of the style.

Also, backgrounds aren't that bad for me because I tend to just do it on my artpad then clean it up...

Voice-overs rock :D The voice needs to sound pretty dumb and funny. I'm wanting him to say words wrong sometimes to add to the character.

Keiko: I feel your pain about animations... I read the tutorials & just got confused.  I animated one character, and it took forever! When I finally finished it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either...

lol I don't think it's free willy at least. :P

I did a few extra sketches at school (in my school book :P) and I think they look pretty cool so I might try and add them into the game. :)

hmmm...I need help with animation, design and voice overs.

Animation so far has been a nightmare.
The outline on my dude is pretty rough and I need help with shading and stuff.
Oh and voices...well, upload a sample or something. :)

A sample of him saying what? What does he sound like? Is he brilliant, stupid, oafish, dorky, what? Give me a description and something he might say.  What kind of emotions is he experiencing when he speaks? Any? Is he happy? Sad? Mad as hell? Confused(maybe he's always confused...) lol.  ?? ^^ Cuz I gotta have some direction.

he's kinda stupid like I said somewhere at the top, I want a homestar runner type voice so you'll have to watch the cartoons to hear what I want. heh

I think i'll slowly move away from the HSR look once I have something properly planned. Until then, i'll be working on a GUI...
