This is work in progess as you can tell, there are other elements that still need to be added. Some elements are computer generated and other are drawn with Painter/Photoshop. My hardest part is trying to get the ground to merge into the grass with somewhat realism.

It's rather nice and easy on the eye, although the style is a bit too computer generated for my taste...
The two trees on the left should be more attached to the ground somehow, maybe with a shadow and some grass/rocks around them.
The transition sand/grass also needs to be more smooth and natural.

Thanks for the comments Andail. You are right about the trees. There will be bushes and more grass added as in reference to the original image.

What would be recommended to lose the computer generated feel. I tried to do paint-over on everything that was generated to make it blend in more with the over-all image.

Tramm!  That's absolutely amazing.  I think there are a lot of people here that would like to know how you made this image.

CRITIQUE:  Its backwards, the rock and tree stump in the foreground is blurry, while the 'aftground' is clear as a bell.  As for blending the grassy areas into the soil areas, if you look at well traveled areas, there are small plants and weeds that grow even in the hard-packed soil.  And near the edges, you might just add some individual pixels of a dark green to show the hardier weeds.  They're often much darker than grasses and lighter plants.  I also think the oval monolith looks too contrived, like it is not supposed to be standing up like that.
