Title: Logo Animation
Post by: deadsuperhero on Sun 25/02/2007 00:46:16
Well, I was goofing off with an improved version with the S6E logo, when I tried to actually make an animation (the kind that pops up just before you play a game)
It's not fantastic, but give me some thoughts on what I could do to make this better (or, perhaps suggest a different animation for it. I would have done some fancy 3D animation, but I don't really know how to do that)

2 things very fast...

1. It could use a little variation on the appearance of the letters, somehow it doesn't work for me exactly right now... Can't pin point it though... :-\
2. Make it faster. It's a tad slow for a logo, espeically one that will open everytime you play the game.

Other than that I really like it, even if not 3-d. Still it is rather cutting edge idea, so well done :)

Look really cool, but IMHO the name is coming in too slow.

It seems rather dark, until the flash at least.

Yeah, it's a bit slow. Luckily, I can speed it up with AGS, which is what I usually do with this sort of thing.

S6E.....lol, that makes me chuckle :)

It's a nice animation, does what it says on the tin. It's not very RAF/USAF like though. Perhaps you could experiment with making things "fly" :)

Yeah, I'll keep at it.
I would like to eventually make some sort of neat animation of everything falling into place, and an explosion would occur, causing the font to just burst out of nowhere.

I recommend cutting out the chevrons where the 6 is, and fill them in elsewhere, to give it an armyesque look.

Also, yes, speed it up.

* speed it up! Alot! I know that this has been suggested but more votes on thing will make matter more important. Or make it skippable in game. I personally totally hate long logo sequences in games.
* White/gray outline leftovers(antialiasing?) on text don't look good in last frames.
* The number 6 is somewhat bland and unnoticeable. Maybe bright/saturate it up?
