Title: Looking for crits/ideas on stubby sprite.
Post by: LilBlueSmurf on Wed 10/08/2005 01:06:33
This is the main character of another game.Ã,  It is in black and white because that is how he appears some time, and requires the most attention to detail, colors can hide things.Ã,  I love the side view, but I am not very happy with the front view.Ã,  Any ideas or quick redo's are welcome, and other comments / suggestions are appreciated as well.

I like it.  What do you not like about the front view?

What bugs me a bit?  The symmetry.   Only one half of it was made, and then flipped over.  I think the front view's appearance would improve greatly if the two sides were not exact mirrors of eachother.

It doesn't look bad, however.  I like the character.  Disney-esque.

In the side view the top pixels of the nose are in line with the top pixels of the eyes... But in the front view the nose top is a pixel below the top of the eyes. I don't if changing that would make it look better though.

BTW. it looks awsome as it is

I find the front view's shoulders look too broad and square for the soft "personality" the sprite seems to have.

It looks like Charlie from the Chocolate Factory. Great work. :)

I think the biggest problem i can find with the sideview is that he looks sad, as the shading on his eyes look like sad eyebrows. Nice work though. I enjoy quality work :D
