err, can you post your try at animating him, then we have somthing to work on. as far as i can see you've just taken the ron cow character, and are asking US to animate it for you...

Actually i did take it from ron, but they give them away for free, so i can do that. As for the animation i actually animated quite a lot of it. But i couldnt do any walking animations.

Thanks a lot Finis Mundi, that really helped.  ;D

Yes, but this is not a cow, this is a man in a cow suit.

Ok damnien, scince you are a great animator, clould you edit that? ???

I'm sorry, but I'm not that good at drawing north/south walkcycles, so as far as that goes I wouldn't do much better than you.

My suggestion:
Check out >HERE< (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?PHPSESSID=aaa6f4e1bfcc0bb668792965a0040284opic=600.0) for all kinds of drawing and animating tutorials and practice.
When you make something, don't post it here right away, look at it and think what you might add, or fix. When you think you can't do better, post it here for critisism. Listen to what people have to say, and then edit your work.

But then it doesn't need tail or horns either, since it's not a cow, right?

I think it needs the udder, otherwise it's a man in a bull-siute...

I think the udder would look nice, too, although it would be a b!tch to animate.

All those silly little dingle-dangles flopping about when she walks...

um...yeah...

I like the anim the way it is now, too.

Why don't you try to edit it yourself?Ã,  Adding in a tail sway isn't a difficult thing to do.

Make an effort to do it yourself and then, if it doesn't look quite right, some folks in here will edit it for you.Ã,  But at least then you'll have made the effort.

That is better, but scince the walking sideways animations warent done by me, you have to tell them to animate it for me.But something is bothering me.How can a cow have horns?

Have you ever actualy looked at a cow. OK OK. Cows have horns but there are certain species of cows that don't. Here is a picture if you don't belive me:

If you don't want to do the work yourself, post in the ACR Thread (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?topic=10001.0) and request an artist/animator to help you out.

The Critics Lounge is a place to get advice (and paintovers/edits) on how to improve something you've worked on,Ã, not to have somebody do it for you.

Perhaps you should read the READ BEFORE POSTING! (IMPORTANT) (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?topic=1623.0) Thread at the top of the Critics Lounge board.

I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm trying to be helpful.Ã,  Just like I was when I pointed out that your signature is over twice the recommended height (and it's still over twice the recommended (respectful) height.)

Yes, Darth is correct, obviously.

Also you can't expect a reply in 2 hours so please don't post if you haven't gotten a reply, I'm speaking of:

"(presses his face against the monitor waiting for a reply)"

Also, for the last time, PLEASE edit your signature to something smaller. People have already offered you a smaller version of the chicken gif, PLEASE use it or just get rid of it all together.

Thank you.

When I look right out of the window I see maybe 30 cows, well not right now, coz it's already night, BUT that's not the point of it. What I was going to say is that each one of these cows has horns.

I think we should talk obut the animations and forget about the cows.

I would have made an edit but i don't lik,e to be pushed into things soo i will just crit instead. The feet on the south animaiton flick to strongly the should only bee a slight movement because it looks like the cows ankles are snapping.

how bout you eliminate the cow feet and add some leg and shoes so it looks like a costume
Title: Re: Man in a cow siute!

What kind of crap is this?...first Tanker asks "How can a cow have horns?" Klauz gives a completely sensible answer in wich tanker replies "I think we should talk about the animations and forget about the cows."
then we see some excellent suggestions/edit by MrMasse wich seems totaly neglected by Tanker....according to his latest frontview walky....
anyways...as for the comment...go with MrMasse and add some seems and the udder...
The arms on the frontview look like static matchsticks attached to the front of his body (suit?)...put them on the side and animate them corresponding to the legs...same goes for the backview...would be nice if we'd see some of the armsway....
rest me to say...put at least as much effort in animating/drawing ur sprites as replying to your own posts and you'll get good results....
sorry for being harsh...
Cheers!

I agree with LostTraveler... heres my go at a paint over... sorry for the lack of qualityÃ,  :)

First off I know it's far from perfect, but I think it looks more like a man in a cow suit.

Here's what I did:

1. Made the arms and legs look more human.
2. Attempted to give him feet/shoes and hands/gloves of some sort but failedÃ,  :)
3. Made his eyes a bit less... erm... odd.

The legs are better but the arms i prefer them like they where. (Cos i already made something in the game that will not look good without the old arms.)
Title: Re: Man in a cow siute!
Post by: strazer on Wed 16/06/2004 18:52:09
I agree, the old arms look better, funnier.
His real arms don't have to be in them, they could just be part of the costume.

Yeah, I don't like the arms in my edit at all... but most animal suits have a body bit with holes for the wearer's arms and legs, which is sort of what I was trying for.

It'd be funny to push the guy over if his arms were inside the suit... he'd never get up  :P

Oh Jeez... So many edits...
Hopefully, this will be the edit to end all edits:

1. Changed feet
2. Modified colour scheme
3. Added texture to horns, udder and suit in general
4. Added detail to eyes
5. Added "basic" shadow
6. Redid stitching

Hope ya like it... and with enough persuasion I might do a walkcycle too!  ;D

And by persuasion did you mean asking or hiring a van full of flower and singers calling your name?

Well I haven't done a full walkcycle yet, but I've done this:

"You put your left leg in, you take your left leg out..."

Sometimes it freezes up for reasons unknown to me.
