[The Suitor]

Here is a couple of things in need of critique. They're for an upcoming project, that I will (hopefully) start production in December after NaNoWriMo. Just needed some thoughts on the whole thing.

A little about the game, which also needs some c&c/inspiration (what little I have of the story):
Emmy (the PC) discovers a portal to another world where she befriends a ball-like creature, Otis. Emmy has to help Otis **insert problem here(maybe save his planet?)**

Anyway, that's about the gist of it...

Neat title ^^ I can't really think of anything right now, except Otis sort of merges with the green center/void/portal thing.  Almost didn't see him there. 

I did want to say though, that maybe you could have her attempt to change the ball's frame of mind....say, make it feel less like a ball and more like a human or something? I can't imagine why a ball would want to be a human, just came to me all random-like.

Awesome, Suitor. I love Emmy's character art and I love the greens you chose for the Ballworld portal. Cool stuff.

I only saw a few things that I would have tinkered with if it were mine:


I'm going to guess that everything will be in shades of green when she enters this world, so maybe her being half and half won't work for your story, but it's how I saw it in my head anyway. Another way I tried it was having Emmy devided in a straight line instead of having it look like light was reflecting off of her, but I liked this one better.

I also moved "Ballworld" up and over just a bit so that the end of the "R" wasn't off of the moon. The "L" and "D" need to be moved up one pixel, I've just noticed... ack!

As for the story... hmm. How about there's an intergalactic "ballgame" (or something or other) that Ballworld must win in order to keep their planet from annihilation.
Something kind of like "Interstellar Pig", if you've ever read it.

Snake, took your advice on moving ballworld up some. As for the green world, I guess it's just 'wormhole' thats green. Also, your ballgame idea combined with theredpress's idea gave me a new idea! Still needs some work though.

theRedPress, tried to make otis a little more visible, i don't know if I helped it, 





also here is the walkcycle...or 'bouncecycle' sprite sheet for otis (it looks better in ags while actually moving--the last frame is the first one with a delay of 5 so it stops between bounces.)

Oh I see what you did with the eyes, yeah that helps a bit I think.  Good work ^^
