MIDI - track volume suggestions

Now, I'm not so bothered about the music at this stage, it seems alright to me - but the volume level for each instrument... Well, it's hard to tell what needs to be louder, quieter etc. The pan pipe kind of sounds at the beginning are dischordant purposefully, but are fairly quiet anyway.

Let me know if you have volume suggestions

Nice tune!

I think the trombone volume is too loud, atleast in the beginning of the tune. Then if you adjust those pan pipe kind of sounds a bit quieter aswell as Pad 4 (choir)-tracks, it might sound a bit better. I guess you just have to try it yourself, take a day off of working on that tune and listen to it again tomorrow, then you might spot the mistakes easier.

On my soundcard the brass melody thing doesn't seem to be loud enough, although it sounds fine on yours, but around 20 seconds the pizzicato (that quotes the indy theme) seems too loud on both my soundcard and your recording.

Petteri, ta! The choir is pretty loud you're right, I'll try all those adjustments and see how they sound!

For what it's worth, I think it sounds pretty darn good.

I love the indy theme mixed in there.Ã,  It was a good volume and seemed to fit right in.

Not that my opinion really counts for much with the little experience I have but this music is amazing. I think the little "dling" sort of noise at the very beginning (sorry, crap description I know) should probably be a little slower and softer. To me, everything else seems spot on, but I suppose it depends what sort of picture it's going against. It certainly gives me the feeling of suspense for the build up to something big!

It's more of just a test. A draft piece for now. I think it would be better suited to a cut-scene than a background, but I suppose it could fit either in a way.

I straightened out the pizzicato strings at 20 seconds, how does that area sound now?

PS, the end part is unfinished. Mainly because I'm out of instrument slots and need to work in a way around that

nickeedoo, I'll sort out the "dling" noise (I think its the marimba you're talking about).

mousemat, I've tried to keep it changing throughout, but the majority of the tune is set to work under the high strings melodies. It should be a three minute or so tune when it's finished.

What do you mean about the instrument slots? You have 16 channels, and each channel's instrument can be changed whenever by inserting a patch change, so you aren't stuck with the instrument you assign to a channel from the beginning. I think you'll have enough free channels to write what you want.

I think it sounds awesome.. But is still a bit quiet on my end.. Just boost everything a bit.. And the orchestral hit thing at 40 seconds sounds quite odd, IMO.
