Hi, I've had some great inspirations and have written about 12 songs within a week, that including doing lyrics for more. I've also been looking up some older stuff that I used to do, and found out some that are pretty good imo. So, as I am pretty handicapped with recording, I thought I'd just post the midis so that people might tell what they think, which one of my old ones is worth developing further :)

I shall recall the story behind these... The 1st, can't remember, just some playing that I built up around something I thought was a cute melody, it's a guitar solo piece.

The 2nd, must be the most recent. don't remember that either :( But I made a chord progression and tried some melody there, apparently my brother liked it so I applied it. Then I guess it was autumn then :)

3rd. I did this a couple of years ago. Thought I'd finally make something with the most common C-Am-Dm/F-G, and I did. Later on I added some violins to the end.

4th is porely made as a finger practise over night, but I've grown to like it. I think it has some classical influences, thus the name. Again only guitar.

5th. asked my friend, what shall I name the next song. he said Leveälanteiset naiset (women with wide hips) and I thought I'd try some country/ragtime joyous stuff :)

6th was very much inspired by Genesis' Cuckoo Cucoon, which is an awesome song, but quite hard to play :)

I like "Autumn falls" the most. You should definately keep on that one.

"If I could catch the sunrise" is good too. The violins really add feeling to it.

"A song for rainy weekends" has a nice little tune but is rather average.

The "classic" one is a bit too random for my taste. Couldn't really make out a melody.

Unfortunately the last two don't work for me.

Personally I liked "Klassista" the best, probably because of it's radomness.  It's a very interesting direction.  I couldn't get "levealanteiset" to work for some reason.  Of the others, "sunrise" is really excellent, it's very optimistic and i like that bendy thing in the melody.  Come to think of it, I like them all.  Good work, man!

Odd thing. All of them seemed to work for me at first. Then after, I couldn't play them, but I tried opening the link again, and it works, so basically I think if you really want to hear them, you might have to open the link several times :)

@Space boy

Thanks for the comments, I'll keep to the autumn falls thing. Notice that it's lacking a solo there somewhere, I didn't get to writing it yet, only a so called beginning and the ending.

@djres

extra thanks for encouraging words. I'm gald you liked them. I personally don't like writing midi, I think music is at it's best when it's on paper, because that way it sounds exactly the way you like to play it, and isn't too controlled by rules. But sometimes you just have to write them on midi, or record them. Well, recording I can't do :)
