Bucket Brigade

Here's where I will be dumping sprites, Hence the name.

a 3/4 sprite, female, no name yet...,

Critiques and suggestions welcomed!
I need help in overall look, and shading.

Anatomy: concerns are the feet, hands, hips, the left beast <- (from the viewpoint), and overall colors.

After critiques and suggestions I will start working on frontal, side, back views.

Ok, first corrections:
- anatomy is off, there is some room for style but everything above her bellybutton is basically too big (too stretched if you will), except her hands, her hands should be a tad longer (they should end just above the middle of the thigh)
- line of the eyes goes at about middle of the head (not including the hair), so your would be too high
- the breasts (or beasts as you call it  ;) ) mostly have 2 problems
         - the center (the spot between them) should be above the belt buckle, move them a bit left and show some ribcage below the shoulder
         - her right (our left) breast should be narrower than her left
- maybe move her head a pixel or two to the right
- her right shoulder seems too far away from the body, you've drawn it as if it was a frontal view, you have to move it a bit more behind the body

- yeah, be carefull with shading, not only with the amount bt also lightness, for example shade under her chin seems lighter than the one under her breast
- btw shading under the breasts should not be that sharp/dark, since it's a t-shirt and therefore not so tight to the body as latex or something, which basically means the the curves are not so pronounced and don't make such dark shadows
EDIT: actually now that I looked at the smaller version, darkens the shadows under her chin and leave the shading under the breasts, also face needs darker lines (for the nose and lips) so they can be seen more clearly

- the trousers to shoes looks like she wears millitary pants and boots, not sure if you're going for that

More experienced people will come with better advices, but I think this is a good start for corrections. Hope it helps, the sprite is not that bad but can be modified to be much better.

Here are the two things that most leap out at me:

1. Her hips look really weird.  Actually, mostly where they join the right leg.  Compare the tops of her left and right legs: the right leg is about half the thickness of the left!  (Granted, it's a little further away, but certainly not that much.)  Also, I'm not sure why the gap pitches forward like that.  It looks like her right leg for some reason tapers at the top to a very thin post that's attached to the extreme edge of her hip.  Just a few more brown pixels filling in the top of the gap should help.

2. She's facing to the right -- at least most of her is -- but her breasts seem to be facing straight forward toward the viewer.  It looks as if her breasts have migrated around her torso in the direction of her left armpit.

Overall, I like the style, but, like I said, those two things really jumped out at me.

Thanks Alun, and Anian

working on anatomy suggestions...

WIP:

And Still going slowly: added few brown pixels leg and hip area, took away few pixel from the shoulder and lower upper chest area a bit moved cleavage pixels toward the left breast (her orientation).

The original sprite is 66x136 but the zoomed in one is 200x412 (not 198x408). You don't have to scale it up to display it bigger here though; multiply the width by (exactly!) 2 or 3, then put that in the image tag:

What I don't get though: you then suddenly started altering the botched up scaling job using "small pixels"...!?

Also, there's this, from ten days ago:

Might give you a few ideas.

I would just chime in to mention a few things I noticed (sorry if they were mentioned already!)

She looks a little eyebrowless... I think a pair of some eyebrows could go far towards helping the look of her face.

I think her ah... breasts look much better since the first pic, but her left breast (one closestshould be a little bigger. Only slightly, since it is closer. I think that's what makes them look a little off to me.

That's what jumped out at me anyways. Was breasts...   8)

Yeah, the face still needs darker lines (for the nose and lips) and eyebrows. Also I stand by my "moving the head (not the neck) a pixel or two to the right" and her right shoulder just doesn't match her left one.

1. not only should her left breast be bigger, but I think right now it's smaller than the right
2. yeah, they jump out, and with jiggle physics there's no end to the possibilities  ;D

OK, biggest thing that jumps out at me now is her shoulders... either the shoulders are too high or the breasts are too low, and I'm pretty sure it's the former... I'd lower her shoulders a couple of pixels.  (And of course lower her head and neck along with them... the neck certainly doesn't need to be longer.)

For that matter, I think for a woman her shoulders might be a tad too wide, too...

STILL WIP:

and still working on the critics...

And still small pixels mixed with arbitrarily sized big pixels.

Mr Flibble

Large pixels mixed with small pixels are a big no-no. I'm guessing you got here by starting off at low-res, getting frustrated that you couldn't add enough detail, doubling the size, and continuing to draw with the same size of brush? I recall doing that when I first started out, it's a pretty bad habit to get into as you'll always end up with odd looking art. It won't work in a low-res game, and it'll look pathetically blocky in a high res game. Either stick with low-res (about 30 pixels width, 65 pixels height) or get the pencil and paper out and do high-res art that's actually in high resolution.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!
