Ah, here's a sprite I've been working on last few days.
It's supposed to be a patrolling policeman. A bit dumb one, by game story :)

I'm about statisfied with this one, though I feel that I missed something... Maybe there's way to give him dumber look or some similar points I missed?

To be totally sure, I post it for C&C:

(that yellow thingy is a neon yellow vest that Estonian patrols usually wear, though I didn't try to 100% make it same)

Mozesh

I tried to modify several things to make him look more dumber, but it didn't work.
I think he looks great (& dumb ;D ) I can't find any thing wrong with it, except for a pixel of his belt to the right.

Oliver

The clothes are almost exactly like in Estonia but he doesn't look very dumb. I think it's because of the anry looking face. Try making him look a bit shy or so, atleast I think that should do the trick.
You got it!

Patrolling policeman? Why isn't he fat? :)

Darth Mandarb

The way the vest is buttoned makes his torso appear to be facing [our] right ... but the rest of his stance (feet placement, head direction, and arms) appear to face [our] left.  It looks awkward ...

You might want to try reversing the direction of his torso.

As for him looking dumb?  I'd say the cross-eyed look is a good start.
- maybe make the eyes a bit bigger and accentuate the cross-eye-ness.
- mess up the hair a bit more maybe.
- add some stains to his uniform (might seem more slobby than dumb though)

Do cops in Estonia carry firearms?

Hm, good advice, Darth.
I tried a bit, and got him looking like Doofy from Scary Movie 1 (or 2.. or was it 3? bah).

Modified hair, made moustache more stupid, reversed torso, fixed hand with rubber club and added radio & gun onto belt.

He fits quite well already...

About Babar's advice - not bad but I have enough fat policemen in my game to make 3 separate games :D

More ideas?

Mozesh

Looks better,  maybe giving him X legs (is that even correct english?  :-\ ) would make him look more dumber.

big brother

You might try heightening the contrast in your sprites to make them fit better with your background. Your sprite looks to have 3 skin tones, but with the background behind, it muddles them. Maybe try differentiating your values more for each shade.

im starting to really like this sprite, i would suggest if you want to go for something like doofy from SM, then tuck one trouser leg into his socks, and maybe make his hat a bit more, ill fitiing.
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

I tried to give him a kind of stupid smile but failed i think, i also lenghtened legs and modofied his belt a bit, i hope this helps.

Here you go, I agree with BB that a greater range between colors might help.

1.  Changed the color range to have darker outer tones
2.  Gave him buck teeth
3.  Adjusted leg
4.  Adjusted shoulder

And once, again, the day is saved by Progzmax!
Thanks.
