hi, i made this female character:

She is supposed to be 19-20 years old, strong girl.
i´m not totally happy with her, maybe the proportions are not very correct? something about the legs? any advice (or edit) would be welcome! (and great!)  :D thanks guys!  :)

Believe it or not, alot of females DO look like that. Sure, they've not got the hourglass figure we come to expect from the media representation of that half of our race, but hey!
Seems to me that your protagonist looks like quite the adventurer, and i think, given some animation (ie: walking etc...) and depth of character via good solid scripting (with purpose), she'd turn out to be a very lovable down to earth character.

Short answer - no. i wouldn't change her. Just bring her to life, if you can :)

plasticman

looks pretty good, and lucasartsy too.

you could be more generous with the contrasts, right now the shading seems a little flat. and maybe add a 3rd tone for the skin ?

anyway, here's a quick edit :

i raised the waist of 1 or 2 pixels and narrowed it, and altered the shape of the shorts, to make her look less "chunky".
i'm not sure that's what you were going for, but i think her stance and the shoulders/arms make her look strong enough.

i tried to give more volume to the hair, and changed some pixels here and there.

hope it helps

Nice! I love the edit of it too. It is indeed very lucasart-ish and I love it. Although she isn't very stylish. lol. By the face she looks like she could be a spy, but by her clothes she could be one of those 30-40 year old adventurers.

Seems you've mastered the arts of Day of the Tentacle AND lucasarts. :P

I agree with aurora about the looks. In the original version she looks like a girl that could bench 200kg. ;)
But also like plasticman said; a bit more contrast and fix the shorts so she doesn't look like she's wearing a barrel ;)
The whole waist-thing is up to you depending on what look you are going for, but it would be nice if she didn't end up looking like all other characters. Remember, you are making free games (hopefully) so there is no need to "sell" the main character.
Example:
I'm a total film-buff, but there was a time when I only watched the mainstream movies. I thought it was important that the main characters were the most beautiful in the film and the fat kid eats all the time, is stupid and gets his pants pulled down all the time. (you know what I'm talking about, right?) I believed this until I for the first time saw a movie where the main character was "less attractive". Much to my surprise it worked. Maybe even better, because it was easier to identify with the character. (face it: compared to most movie-stars everybody on this forum, from what I've seen of your avatars ;) , are "less attractive")
It was not my intention that this should turn in to a huge rant about society's fixation on appereance, but that's really what the discussion is all about, so there you have it... :)

I guess the point is that you can do whatever you want with your character, as long as you fix the contrast and the pants! ;)

Enlightenment is not something you earn, it's something you pay for the rest of your life.

many many thanks!! all your comments and edits have been really useful!  :)

I like her!

Not all females have to be slim, fit and blonde.

There's a lot of character to this sprite, she's cool!
