Hello All,

First time posting, long time lurker (as in years).

Something I have always struggled with, is drawing characters. Landscapes and other I'm pretty comfortable with.
After ages of trying to use poser, and/or anime studio I'v ventured for hand drawn/Photoshop..

Please be as critical as possible.. (am desperate for advice).

The character is supposed to be that of Sam Tyler of the UK TV series Life On Mars.

So here goes, its my first attempt (mocked up using a few background colours), I know its only one pose.. Though I'm not sure if its reasonable enough to do more..

Many thanks in advance,

Joe.

Is he holding the gun with both hands?
Because if he is, I think we would se the backside of his right hand. If he isn't where is his right hand? You should post a bigger version, because I'm having a hard time seeing the details.
A general tip would be to look at more reference photos of the pose your trying to construct.

Problem

I think it's too blurry in parts (e.g. the nose). And I have the impression that his arm is too short.

Phemar

His stance is wrong. His back leg needs to stretch backwards to give his body support, or his legs need to be planted firmly on the ground.

Stand up and try to point an imaginary gun at something - you'll notice your body doesn't tend to crouch like that.

Armageddon

I think his right arm is stuffed in his pocket if you fallow the reflective sheen line thing.

Ah. If that's true, it feels a bit strange. Pointing a gun with one hand and hand and keeping the other one in the pocket. Makes me think he has a crippled right arm.
