Title: My First Proud room
Post by: Gold Dragon on Sun 26/10/2003 19:07:58
Hey guys,

This is my first proud room... its still missing some furniture but I thought I would get some opinions on it now. The room will have a little shrine on the table and another table at the other end with a bonzi tree. If  any of you know more about japaneese cultire and/or know where I can look for some side to help my know how and what to draw for my japanese culture type game I would love to know where.

anyways feel free to critique and/or improve you would like... the sliding door on the left of the door will be move able in the game..

Sorry about that guys...   I updated the pic so it should be viewable now

thank you very much for your comments

You've posted a PCX file ... that's not going to be viewable.  Either GIF or JPG please :)

I dl'ed the file and looked at it.  Overall it's off to a good start.  The perspective on the walkway is off a little (unless that's the way you want it to look).

Other than that it's looking good.

right click the image to view the properties to see where it was hosted and copy that link into a new browser window.  Because it's a pcx file it'll just ask you where to save it.

Ah thanks. Opera didn't show any image so I had to look with IE.

You are right about the perspective. The room has its vanishing point in the middle of the picture, the floor of the corridor has its point to the right and the roof to the left. I'm also a little confused by where the light comes from...

Other than that, it definitely has a Japanese atmosphere and I can't wait to see it filled with stuff. I would love to play a Samurai game.

Oh very nice, the only problem is prespective, I like it.

I also noticed that you used the rock texture in PSP(maybe another program) that is fine but you probably wouldn't want to use it if you show a large section of that wall (or any object really) because it will  look repetative and kinda thrown together.
