I'm pretty satisfied with this result! Because of I really can't draw good grahpics, I'm using 3D rendering, and I now edited my old 3d rendered wardrobe. I used photoshop and with shift holded I drawed over the outlines, and after that I coloured it. Then I replaced the white colour with black, and this is the result!

Now I finally know how to make some nice graphics, without showing 3d renders.

Well if you had PSP installed you could use the colour replacer tool, but photoshop seems to lack one that works as well unfortunately.

that's how i did the art for my game, by tracing a picture, and usually if i can't draw something i'll make a 3D model, render it, then trace over it.
i'd much rather be able to draw for myself though...

Yeah it does but it doesn't work in the same way, in PSP you choose the colour you want to change, then choose the colour you want to have, then just paint over it, simple. I'm not sure if photoshop's works in the same way.

Actually, MS-Paint has the ability to erase just one color: click on the eraser icon, then choose the color you want to erase as the foreground color (left-click), and finally, right-click on the lines you want to erase...
Well I'm not sure about erasing one colour. I've only ever needed to replace the colour...
Very impressive work, Minimi! Not only the result is good but the method will surely teach you many things about 3 dimensions. It has worked wonders for me.
To keep the black outlines untouched, use the magic wand tool to select the black color. Make sure you don't have the Continugous or Anti-aliased options checked. Also, keep the Tolerance in zero. Once you've selected outlines, just copy them and paste them on a new layer. Move the layer topmost and make it a multiply layer (in the layers window, click on the textbox that says 'normal' and you'll get a drop down list). The mutliply feature makes everything but shades of black invisible. Now it doesn't matter what you do on the layers that are beneath it, the black outlines will stay visible. You can even lock the layer if you want.
From there on, if you're working with textures, for example, use the magic wand tool with 'use all layers' option off and when picking the regions, use the topmost layer. This will let you choose the doors of the cabinet, for example, accurately and fast even you have the textures on the other layer(s).
But if removing only one color is the thing you need, just use the magic wand with tolerance 0 and anti-alias off, and pick the color and press delete. If you want to replace it with black, select black color as your foreground color and press alt+enter. It fills the selection with your foreground color.
I hope I'm not being too vague or complicated. If you need clarifying, I'll gladly do so. I hope this answers your question.
Synthetique, instead of referring to manual, it's often more helpful to explain how to actually do the process. Manuals are often boring and not user-friendly. They tend to just explain how the tools work, not how they can be applied... It might not solve the problem. They've made it so hard to even find the correct shortcuts!

I really like what you've made here. I have done 3D traces a lot in the past. It creates a really interesting look/feel for an image.
Pessi gives good photoshop advice. I use slightly different methods but his ways are just as good! (some of our methods are the same :))
