Now the thing is, I have a little problem. The grass!
Please help me make better grass than just plain green!!
Well, I think the main problem with the grass is that there's no depth to it. There should be shadows where the sunlight doesn't hit (under the trees, and the hills that face away from the light. You could also make the distant hills lighter, to give the effect of atmosphere (even on a clear day, things in the distance will appear a bit foggy). You might even want to add more hills in the distance.. Right now it looks like there's a cliff behind the house.
You could add some texture to the grass as well (using the airbrush).. Though I'm not sure it would fit with your cartoony style.

Yes, that is much better. It isnt "correct" but i think it looks fine that way. It fits the style. Probably much easier that way too.
I would've changed either the colour of the trees or the grass. Currently both are using the same shade of green.

Much better. But keep in mind, when an object heads tward the vanishing point it's value will go towards the middle of the value scale. Ie, make the grass darker the farther back it goes rather then brighter.
Evil has really converted to a great artist is seems... I still remember his first background.. ahhhh...
Anyways, I wanted to tell you that the statue looks like Mario and Luigi.. :)

Incorrect. As you go further deeper into a scene objects with the same value appear lighter and less saturated, even to the point of diffused. Its called atmospheric perspective.
This is not true if its actually darker where the vanishing point is towards, like a deep forest or something, but that's not the case here. :P
