This is my first background, i did it with paint in about 1 hour. I'd really appreciate any c&c you can give to help me improve it.

I wanted to make the whole background affected by moonlight, that's why i used all these grey-ish colours, but it looks rather flat and i think the ground and mountains lacks some details/texture, any idea?

Thanks.

i really like. Looks like a good starting point. Regarding the colours, i would use more blue-ish tones. And make the moonlight highlights in some kind of white-yellow colour.

but is looking really good

As a first background I think this is great! I especially like the sky in the back!!

As for the rest, you could sure work on the perspective on the house and on the tombstone things(?). I also think there is something wrong with the perspective on the lowest step on the cliff in the foreground. To finish of my critics ;) I also think that you can make the ground and river a littlebit more detailed (yes I realize that you only have worked on this for an hour :P )

The lighting and the light effects are by the way great!

Good luck with your game ;)
I've got three 'taters, a bucketfull o' pelicans...and satan!

Looks really good, man!  I really dig the moonlight effect.  I was thinking maybe if there was a light on in the house, it might liven the background up a little bit.  Maybe a tree on the other side of the river too?  Really I don't see a lot wrong with it, just some more you could do with it.

Cool bg, only two suggestions:

-add subtle moonlight shadows
-make the river wider in the front and narrower in the back to add depth, like this:

Hey thanks for the crits, i tried to correct what you pointed out, but i wonder if it looks better, maybe i overdid it...

The lights look strange and i don't really know how to add details but i tried something with the river, any help would be appreciated!
