Title: Need help with pose, please.
Post by: Jim Reed on Fri 07/08/2009 15:45:17
Can someone help me, please,  and find anything wrong with this character. the view is from slightly above, on the contrary of what the feet imply. Any suggestions are welcome. The character is only a sketch but I would like any feedback on the pose.

I'm not a good artist but i must say that the diagonal view when he faces the screen looks a little odd...the legs should be different...to me they look like they should be used with a sideview...it looks like the body is turned but not the legs.

Thank you.
I've decided to redo the whole character, so this one is out the window anyway.

It doesn't become a top-down perspective just because you say so :)

Here's a suggestion:

It would be helpful if you acquired an action figure or something and looked at it from above, to see how all the lines that make up round objects appear different.

Hey, thanks Andail.
I can draw in perspective, but pen and paper is my domain, pixels make me seem lousy at drawing. Your pic is really good. Now, if I could only make it walk in eight directions, I could use it as a dummy.
Hehe, too bad you're a comercial artist, or I would PM you allready to sign up on this "little" project we have =D
