Post by: AndersM on Fri 16/05/2003 17:08:57
I wonder how many meters of cograil that was included in that sweet sixteen-ager's bike-kit? and, by the way, that bike would be impossible to ride: The upper cogweel is smaller than the lower. This can't work as long as they are powered by the same chain. (if not the upper cogweel and cograil got twise as many cogs per meter as the lower) But if she removes the chain, it will work, but then she has to 'ride' faster with her hands to keep it straight....  ;)

This whole thread's kinda confusing. Why don't you change it to "Neole's art-thread", leave the first picture in the first post and just post the new pictures as new replies? Then you wouldn't need to edit the first post any more, the pictures and replies would be in chronological order, and viewers wouldn't need to view both the first page and the last page to see the pic and its replies.
Title: Re:Neole's art-thread - 18 May : Goddess of Chaos
Post by: Evil on Sun 18/05/2003 20:30:14
I think that Neole needs to start an easy webpage and just change the photo on the first post every day and then when it is changed add it to the website... :/ Just a thought...

Hmmm the only problem is that I don't quite know whether it's in a forest at night, or inside a dark cave with shinny metal mines.

Title: Re:Neole's art-thread - 20 May : Bursting the Bubble
Post by: Neole on Tue 20/05/2003 08:30:03
Thanks Gilbot. Actually its neither, its supposed to be the surface of the moon or some such, and the tank is about to break through a glass environment bubble.

N3T - The tank wasnt intentionally drawn beatup.. its just that I cant draw good straight lines, plus the render clouds filter always gives a 'beaten up' kind of shading.

Ok: The big-titted girl sees a big-gunned tank...  Nice. You caught all the things a man likes in one picture: Over-sized weapons and over-sized Hrmm-hmmm..  And now the ctritisism: The turret on the tank looks unsymethric (Is that an english word?): it looks like the tank is about to tip over to the left (girl's point of view).

Post by: Neole on Wed 21/05/2003 07:58:39
Thanks Igor - when an artist like you praises my work its always an honour!

MrMasse - thanks for that analysis, I hadnt thought about that implication of the image hehheh. You're right about the tank, its just that I'm plain bad at drawing straight lines and stuff, am trying to practise that part with some of these drawings.
Title: 21 May : The Fight
Post by: Neole on Wed 21/05/2003 08:02:15
There's one thing very wrong with the man's pose that spoils the feeling of having been just knocked out. Anyone?

Title: Re:Neole's art-thread - 21 May : The Fight
Post by: AndersM on Wed 21/05/2003 20:00:41
Angry girls are just soooo hot. Especially when they wear a top like that...

The mans pose is (like you mentioned) somewath wrong..
it loooks more like if he sits relaxed and comfortabel on a picnic blanket or something.

And due to the fact that the girl's feets sink down in the grass, the man seems to hoover above it.
But I dunno, I might be wrong. I have been wrong before. In June '87 i think it was...

Post by: Igor on Thu 22/05/2003 10:18:50
Great as usual! Love your comic style :)
I don't really think there's anything wrong with man's pose. He looks perfectly knocked down to me.
Well... since you were asking for suggestions, Here's (http://maniac.adventuredevelopers.com/neole.jpg) a quick little edit.
But I'm not sure if he looks any more knocked down this way.

Synth - I tried to bury them in the grass but the attempt failed I guess. The guy should have been lower as mrMasse said.

MrMasse - you're right on both points. I think I was there that time in '87 when you pressed the nuke button instead of the coffee dispensing one.

Igor, that hit the spot perfectly! Your addition makes the exact statement I was looking for, thanks!

Hehheh N3T, you're probly right. Hmm.. but then that won't explain the tears..
Title: Re:Neole's art-thread - 22 May : Missy Goth
Post by: Neole on Thu 22/05/2003 14:30:50
These are concept sketches for the main character for a strip called Missy Goth. Slightly over one hour for the bunch. Which do you think is best for a goth humor comic strip with a vampyress as the main character?

Title: Re:Neole's art-thread - 22 May : Missy Goth

why not?

If he said:

"Ooooh, I just love your breasts"

then she says:

"That's great, but what about me"

then he says:

"Oooooh, I just love your BREASTS"

explenation needed? ;)

Post by: Neole on Fri 23/05/2003 06:00:16
N3T, hehhhe, now the whole pic makes sense ;)

Synth: these are concept sketches, not the comic

Proskrito, I love #4 too. I dont think we can go with 5 though cos she looks a bit older than required. Maybe we can assign a role for her as Missy's godmom or something.

MrMasse: That was cryptic! I am completel clueless bout that statement..

Evil: Will put #6's shoes on #4 then.

Trap, they're undead, its a surprise they even have posture!

The producer of the strip likes #1 for some reason.. will have to convince him otherwise.

Title: Re:Neole's art-thread - 23 May : Breast Examination

Ah I get you now (feels silly!)

The cyborg is not being refilled, she is not a milk-dispensing-infant-care-cyborg. That was stopped after they started implanting auto-milk-producing-chips inside infant cheeks in 2764. This one is just being tested for proper electronic functioning before release.

Nice work, though a little unclear... I saw the dog after a bit.

SB was right, it does look a lot like a women with some giant, translucent tube being shoved in her mouth. There's even a line which looks like her closed eye.

Post by: Neole on Mon 02/06/2003 07:55:52
Well yeah, its a spaceship in the shape of two girls facing each other, within whose transparent walls are the dance floors and the escalators. From the Earth it should look like two girls more clearly thus acting as a big advertisement for itself. That 'tube in the mouth' is a passage from one tower to the other. You're right, could all have been much clearer!

fartypants, forgot to color that nipple!

Just found this thread after being away a couple of weeks, so here are some questions...

Some of the women you drew reminded me of Vaughn Bode (yep, I am that old :)) and the subject of most of your "women pics" looks very much like Jeff Jones' Idyl.

You know these guys' work?

Anyways, it was a nice surprise to see a whole thread with your drawings, you made me think of picking up a pencil again after a long time. Great work!

Synth, alright, I will try and put up some colored stuff in another thread. I keep only an hour every day for these daily sketches, so there's not enough time to color them. However I am getting a Wacom Intuos 2 soon, so I might be able to get color in them too, since tablets work much more efficient than mouse.

The trouble with this one is that superheroes are often drawn bold and with thick lines, in traditional comic book style. This is a more sketched look, so it takes away the effect.

Not to say it's a bad drawing.

Thanks! Yes, its a teddy bear, and no she's not dreaming bout you she just loves her teddy bear.

12431 - I only did a coloring tutorial -
http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=6840

I dont think there's any tutorial for drawing except to draw and draw. Of course anatomy books and perspective books would help, there's lots of stuff available online on that. But there's no better tutorial than to keep drawing.

MrMasse, the Wiggnies are the lil flying creatures who are cheering. I created them for this picture. The sad losers would thusly be the Woognies so the picture could have been titled 'The Woognies Lost' as well.

N3T, no, its not decapitated, there's a real girl under there with her head sticking out. I know, a lil disturbing.

Post by: Neole on Sun 06/07/2003 09:33:52
Got a Wacom tablet! Now I can experiment with colors hopefully. It's pretty different from drawing with a real pen on real paper, nowhere as precise. And I'm still keeping the time for these pieces one hour each so I have to do both drawing and colors in the same time now, which means they'll end up looking rougher than the b&w pieces. At least till I can learn some speeding up techniques and tricks maybe. Anyway, my first color attempt with a brand new wacom, a game character I coined up myself, sort of a Japanese female Max Payne. Not too proud of the result. Critics welcome.

N3T, its sort of a transparent glittery fabric. They looked better in the full sized image I think resizing them caused a problem. If you mean the green thing on the lower belly thats a tattoo or paint, its there on her neck and breast as well. Actually I was trying a costume design for the princess in Star Wars Ep2, Natalie Portman.

Hey, I just had a thought. Neole, you could try to do a 7-picture series. he themes would be -

Greed, Pride, Sloth, Vanity, Lust, Envy and Wrath.

That's right, I'm talking seven deadly sins here! But don't go SE7EN - just, you know, create and innovate, in seven different pictures, each portraing or representing (or whatever) one of each, bearing in mind they're deadly sins.

Up for the challenge? Come on. I dare ya.  ;D

Slam - they're two alien girls playing a battle game of some sort. Somehow they dont feel much pain. These are just a couple of panels from the comic, I havent posted the rest.

N3T - Dont tell me, it's ..... Ghost in the Shell??

BOYD - dunno, dont think 've heard of it.

Dodge - its not really a dark turn, it still remains fun sort of. I finished doing the next few panels.

redrum - that sounds too much like work. So not taking on the challenge yet! But I think it would be good idea to put that in the God game somewhere. Hmm..

N3T - See now you got me all confused!

MrMasse - ROFL! Anyway if its any consolation I had painted her nude then painted the yellow stuff irreversibly over that.

Igor - yeah this is the legendary stuff they make games of, like Phantasmgoria 3 - Board of the Blasphemerers.

Flippy, Trap - alrighty I have succumbed to your evil plans for once..

I think you're being influenced by Terminator 3, or somehing. These are great, but I miss all those warmer black and white people - particularly Puppet Mistress. Not becaue of the nakedness, but there's something entrancing about it...

Hey thanks guys!

N3T I dont now what it is myself. Just some brushstrokes!

Rincewind sorry bout the delay on the cover..

Remixor, its more difficult to draw accurate anatomy with the tablet than with a pen so I had to shift a bit..

Gemmalah, it was photoshop 6 and a wacom tablet - no real world paint!

12431 - sure will make more, just got a lot busier. I did do a tutorial for my mouse colored cartoons - hmm I cant find the link. I had posted it in the critic's lounge a couple months back. Anyone have the link?

Next time I'l take some snapshots in photoshop while painting so I can post them as tutoriasls maybe.

Yes, tutorials would be great. Ah crap, I cant remember the name. Anyway there is this desktop thingy. You turn it on and it will record what you do. So you turn this on (while leaving im's off along with music players) and then color it in photoshop like you normally do. When you are done you can cut stuff out (like long breaks) and speed it up. That way we can see exactally how you do it... Did I already talk about this? Hmm... I'll try to find the url for the download...

Hey all,

Evil, sorry I didnt make anything after that so I dont have any tutorials :/

Ratty, that nudist camp game is ready, except for the end game cutscene I was not too happy with. In fact that game was finished within a month an a half of starting. I just havent touched it in a long time. I will play it through one of these days and see if it is ready for release. The God game also made good progress a couple months back, then stopped for a bit. I'll see if I can get the gang to git working on that again.

Andail, these daily artwork are all bunched up here. It was fun doing them but then I ran out of hours in a day -
