I have just finished my new background, so please tell me what I can improve or just do what you like with it.

The technique is great, I have nothing to comment on it.
(let alone improve)

About the composition.

1) The line between the backgroud island an the sea is straight.
It suggests that the island is beyond the horizon.
I would preferit if the line was not straight so that the island looks a bit closer.

2) I would prefer it if I could see the end of the beach at the left side of the image.

3) How about a sun and some clouds ?

Yes, it does look good. Please however, dont post JPGs because they are hard on the eyes.

I love the water on the bottom and I think it should be moved to the top section. The trees could use some work. The islands are too realistic for those trees. The farther islands color does look a little dark.

I agree with Angelos about the horizon. It would look better if you moved it up a bit.

Edit: Oh, and use img tags.

the water in the back looks a bit empty...compared to the water in the front.
You should do something with it.

well, you might not want to add too much detail to the water, if youre going to animate it later.

correct me if im wrong but it looks as if you may have ripped the water and part of the beach from some other game, as the quality of the top and bottom half of the image dont look as if theyve come from the same person.

Its quite good, try adding more trees and some birds and a ship sinking. Would be better that way (at least with the birds).

Yes I "ripped" it from monkey island but this is only just to get me started. Don't worry I will re-make it when I have some more skill.

Looks very good.
You might want to add smoe more detail to the island in the back so that it looks more like the one in the front.
