Haddas

Hello again peoples. it's been a while since last time.

I sat down today and felt like creating a tune to have playing as background or FMV sequence music in an adventure game. After a couple of hours of work this is what i created.

The streets are mine

Now, I'm basically finished with the song, and by basically I mean I need help finding all the worst problems with it.

Is a specific sound really annoying, Is it too distracting to be background music? If it were to be background music, what kind of game would it be most suited for?

- Best regards, Haddas.

WOW, amazing!

I have to listen this a few times to see if I can find anything "critical" about it.

As you know I like it. :)

The only thing I could probably say, from a more...academic point of view, so don't take it too deep (moslty bullshit stuff), is that it is a little bit repeatative... :-/

But repeatition comes with this style of music, so exactly for that reason I can't find any fault as well...

Other than that all sounds, ideas, piano in the middle, drums are very well put.

It sounds, to me, a little like a suspensy, groovy detective-style thing. :) I picture a scene where the protagonist is trying to sneak up on his adversary, maybe by sneaking around a headquarters or something. I really like the bit near the middle with the piano and the electric guitar, and the subsequent bridge-y bits.

I don't think it's too distracting to be background music, I think it's fine the way it is. :)

Haddas

Wow. I'm glad about all these positive comments. I've decided to post another song I'm working on aswell. This one isn't nearly as polished, and a lot shorter too.
These are all background songs so they loop seamlessly. Not in this MP3 format but in the ogg versions.

Ok. It seems i've not received any comments or critique on that one, so I'm gonna go ahead and post my latest work now, It's somewhat different from the others, but it still think it has the same "feel" as the others have, including guitars.

Comments appreciated :)

Steel Drummer

Well, since barely anyone has posted in my music critic thread (and the ones in the past), I thought I might post here and see if anyone returns the favour. ;) This song sound good for a credits sequence. However, the guitar starts to get a bit repetitive towards the end. Why not add a screaming Hendrix-esque guitar playing over top of that to cover up the monotony? Besides that minor detail, the song sounds good. Keep up the good work!
I'm composing the music for this game:

Thanks for the critique steel drummer. I appreciate it. I'm gonna have a go at creating this Hendirx-like guitar, but I'm limited to a computer only, and i'm not nearly as talented as Hendrix. I'll see what I can do :)

Haddas:

I remember listening to Office Renovation and thinking it was a very creative use of those industrial-type sounds. :)

As for this one - Credits - I love it. I like how it's soothing but has an edge to it lent by the overdriven guitars.

I don't think you really need to add a solo to the end, but I agree that something could be done to relieve the monotony of the guitar riff - maybe a shift in the pattern, or chords or just simply a guitar melody overlaid on the backing? I don't know much about music, but that's how I'd do it.

Haddas

Hey thanks for that :)

I've updated the song and added a few riffs and moved things around a bit.

Hopefully it's better.
