I'm just starting to use Photoshop and I would like to know what you think of these pics.  Pick them apart and let me know.  In the second pic I want lots of criticism on the perspective.  I'm not good at perspective and I would like to get better with your help.  BTW: The second picture is not final by any means (I've still got more detail to add to it)

I have changed the layout significantly and reduced the width of the room.  If anyone could help me with drawing an open state for my elevator I would appreciate it.  I can't seem to get anything done I find acceptable (fridge and cabinets too-just in case I find an artist with nothing to do.)

the counter behind the fridge should go out to touch the wall
the numbers above the elevator seem too large to me
does the flatscreen really fit the perspective in this room?

this is a very good background, those were just the things i noticed. I did like the perspective overall... you followed the rules and good for you.  I like the man painting/picture. I feel that was done well.  I like the detail you have done.

Keep up the good work!
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

It's quite good, agsfellow.

The rightmost side of the desk isn't angled enough to keep with the perspective.

I really like the Aquarium, and you should definitely animate it.

I also liked most of the color choices, they really give the scene a light-hearted feeling.

i like it, but one question??

Where is floor #13??

it seems to be missing from the elevator. Is it a secret floor? Does it have anything to do with being unlucky? Just curious.

Thanks for all the comments so far.  Keep them coming, here is the office Lobby redone with some of the comments in mind.  Jason: as far as the comment about animating the fish tank (I may do some bubbles) but it is going to lack fish on purpose (unless I make getting the Fish Food into a puzzle).  BuffaloGamer: Just a superstitious architect I suppose. Scummbuddy: I probably will change the numbers above the elevator I just haven't yet.  And I ditched the monitor as you can tell.

I hope you don't mind ... but I really liked the starting to your bg and I thought I'd contribute.  There are a few things I updated and added to.

Here's the pic:
AGSFellow's Background

- Added some shading to the cabinet drawers
- Added perspective to the fish tank
- Changed the elevator
- Added some detail lines to the fridge
- Added a carpet divider between kitchen and lobby
- Added some shading to the walls/floor trim
- Added details to the microwave
- Updated Mr. Frisby's door
- Added some cord to the microwave cord that was already there

I guess I just got motivated to help!  Feel free to use any or all of it if you want!

EDIT - I think animating the fish tank is a great idea actually.  You don't have to have fish it it.  But bubbles and the plants moving around would really sell the scene I think!  BuffaloGamer - Most hotels don't have a floor numbered 13 (at least in America) did you know that??

cheers,

I like Darth Mandarb's changes.  Just one thing I'd suggest:
Link to the image

I basically moved objects closer together.  it helps with bg looking not so empty.  it also reduces the bg width to 2/3 and effectively cuts down travel time of the player.  Remember it's not what you present, but how you present it.

Other than that, good work!

Oh, I missed the part where you said you still have more details to add to the background.  nevermind my previous post.
