Here is its temporary location: http://maniac.adventuredevelopers.com/igor/index.htm
It's far from finished (only one link work for now and not all pics.. but there's nothing new anyway).
The site will stay this way for some time, as i don't have time to finish it at the moment... but that doesn't mean suggestions and critics are not welcomed- quite contrary! Rip it apart ;D
If possible, view it in 1024x768 or above resolution.
Igor, you are a real pro.
I can't ofcourse give any critics on your drawings, because they are awesome, but I have some little things for you, that you might want to change.
- I viewed the site at 1024x768 with IE, and I the copyright text, just fell outside the screen. You might want to schrink the size, so it fits the screen on the standard resolution these days.
- I can't click on the older sketches in the sketchbook
- The menu on the bottom, might also be handy on the top of the page.
- In my opinion it would be a nice effect to change the button colours onmouseover.
Looks good. The artwork is amazing. Personally, I liked the look of your other one better. The only other thing is that it took a freaking long time for me to load and I am on broadband. Same goes for the artwork.
Thank you all for comments!
Minimi- cool suggestions! i already got a few complaints that site doesn't show all on screen, even in 1024x768... Hm, i'll make it a bit smaller.
Also, i'll try to put the menu on top of page too.
About buttons- you see, the whole main page is one big gif image, with hotspots for buttons. Since i suck at HTML (and Dreamweaver) i didn't want to bother with all those tables, etc.... as it usualy never look as i'd want to :) That's the reason there are no over-button actions.
Evil- you mean the previous site? The problem with it was, there was too much text and it relied on updates (that got more and more infrequent). This is more portfolio-style.
About speed- the site will move on faster server as soon as it will be finished :)
Nice Design, and i like the image in the gallery too nice confident lines and shapes.
I realise you dont want to mess with tables etc but focusing on the positive aspects that rollover buttons would have in making the page come alive.
A second point to consider is that on your sketchbook the navigation is totally different to your first page it took me a minute to realise where i needed to look to go back to the main, only a small ergonomic point but worth keeping in mind - i only bring these points up because i think the work is worthy of a good showcase! 8)
Hey DodgeR!
Yeah, agree with you about navigation... the thing is, i don't really know how to keep similar navigation as on main page without screwing the design of gallery completely (those buttons would be quite distracting there)...
Hm, maybe i could add those text links on the bottom of main page too?...
Aaaaaah!!!!!! MY EYES!!!!!!
:)
Really great :D Love it :D
Especially the Ignac2 concepts ;D
navigation in the gallery would improve if you made the text links aswell
Plus I just wanted to say Igor you are a god!
/me thinks igor is a big Butcher fan, as most of teh gals he drew aren't wearing any pants!
Thanks again!
Yeah, working links are coming ;D
Igor corrects Gilbot, that he is actually a big Red Guy fan... that probably also clears up why he is always bouncing on his butt instead of walking.
Great website you have there!
I find it easy to navigate and artistically polished.
I really dig your art. Again I have to say the word ... polished. Clean crisp lines. Not a stroke wasted. And yes - elegant might suit your style as well. The sixties influence is evident and I think it´s great. It somehow reminds me my childhood (especially the black and white sketches). Not that I was born in sixties, of course, but a long time ago, when I was a kid I found some kids magazines from sixties in our local library and I was hooked, mostly because of the art. Lovely memories. (except from I have returned them long after due date and I had to pay something that equaled a fortune for me at the time... I was scared they could even call cops on me ;D)
Umm, where we were? Ahh, yes.... good job Igor. Double thumbs up!
Jaz, that was one of the most beautifully nostalgic comments i ever got. Thanks :)
A good thing I saw this on time.
GREAT work Igor (as always).
Tho you say this is a temp. site, don't forget to change the Untitled thing on the main page(i had nothing else bad to say about your page :P).
I'm gonna buy you another drink.
Hvala Czar!
Oh btw, congrats for kicking our a**es at football ;)
Evilspacefart- i'm writing those down :)
hey Igor.. i really really love your work..
i'm sorry, but i just couldn't keep my hands off one of your noir sketches, i had to do something!
..hope you don't mind.
i'm trying to learn how to sketch faces like these you've done... i need to find some tutorials and practice a LOT.. keep rockin' dude.
Those images are quite heavy to load, or the server is slow.
What you talkin' about sucka! They load quick, although... you could blame my 512k connection for that. :P
Anyways, the site looks great at 1024x768. The sketches look amazing, I wouldn't call them doodles... especially when you see my "art" if you can even call it that. :P
You have good taste in layouts my friend, use your skills wisely. ;) *Mick Foley-style thumbs up*
WOW, Great site!
What are you people talking about?
It took me less than 5 seconds to load the page,
and I use ISDN!!! Well, Dual ISDN...
But that's only 14 kb/sec anyways...
Stu- cool coloring! Love the cigarette's smoulder glow :)
Mad_Reizka- yeah, AD can be slow sometimes... as i said, that's just temporary location. As soon as site will be finished, it will be moved on faster server.
heh malo smo štekali u prvoj ali se sve riješilo u drugoj, 1:0 je dovoljno :))
Anyway, stu thats nice coloring, and yeah i'll say again. Great site (including contents(sp) :P )
i think it's great. clean and beautiful. awesome.
