Title: Nightmare in the Town
Post by: Gord10 on Mon 13/10/2003 14:40:10
I'll make a new game called "Nightmare in the Town". I made a few pictures with Adobe Photoshop.

I'm going to post more info in a few days.
Note: As you see, the altar picture at the top is the light-effect rendered version of the bottom picture.
Note2: I've not given Plane Number 13 up.

Those pictures are nicely composed. You have a sort of 'minmalist' thing going on so i think you should build on that.
One way to do this would be to use as much black as you can and get rid of the gradients. The 'sodt' backgrounds contrasted with the harsh black shadows should be spooky..
But what do I know?
Go with your gut instinct!

The work on the character (ghost?) is very good. Mainly that is because you are showing volume by adding light and dark areas without focusing on outlines.. the finished result is powerful.

you should really find a way to transfer that technique over to the background images.

I guess backgrounds are difficult to do, but if you used the same concept in style as with the character, the final result would be much more powerful than the isometric one you've used.
