Once upon a sprite

I've been busy with this sprite for a little while now and would like some C&C. It's not a sprite for ags, but another program wich lets you develop a oldschool fighting game. But then again, a sprite is a sprite right?

ooh, very nice job, Aboris.Ã,  I dig the shading.Ã,  If you'll allow me to get a little nitpicky...

- Perhaps you should shade the hair a bit more?Ã,  Some parts seem a little plain.

- Also, his eyes are quite a bright blue...very blue indeed.Ã,  But, you may want to keep it the way it is

- Lastly, he has a very tiny crotch, but that could be your style...

I don't see why the Hair should be in a different position, because his hed hasn't changed angle so it would settle back into the same kinda position.
but Tiki's right about the Tight crotch. But I love the style!

How far done is this game, any info? I checked your sig but no luck.

I just started with it today. So its no way near complete.
As for clicking my sign. Thats a friend of mine his website. I'm currently helping him with one of his AGS games, So you'll find no reports about this project down there (And no, I don't own a website of my own).

First I'm putting it in a editable game tool I found somewhere in the murky depths of internet called KOF_91 or something like that. Its real easy to put your own creation in there, altho it is a bit limited.

But after i'm satisfied with the looks of the character I'll try import it into something called "MUGEN". It is alot more complicated to work with tho. But the engine gives you alot more freedom.
This engine mimics the game engine of the likes like capcoms streetfighter zero and such. But as said: It's alot more trouble to create your character with.

I like the color coordination of the boots and the jacket.Ã,  Just 'cause you're a street fighter doesn't mean you can't color coordinate your outfits!!

I can't really find anything that I don't like, it's quite nice.

If I had to be a nit-picky fool ... perhaps that one tiny pixel sticking out of his boot in the more open stance (his left boot).Ã,  But it's nothing really ... it's about the only thing that caught my eye.

And as stated above I currently am involved in making a AGS game. I'm helping JetXL making a sequal to his Coell Decka. Here's a preview of the main char. (you might remember this one, I posted it a while back when I needed help coloring it)

The character has a lot of detail, which is good.  One thing that I notice though is that he's got a very short span from his neck to his belt, which makes him look like he has super long legs.  I'd lower the belt a bit, but it's more of a style thing than a problem.  Nice work.

I think the hairdo and the big eyes make him look like a she.

My first reaction was that it must be a girl....

(Again, I do NOT mean that your He-man male character looks sissy)

Here re some edits to make him more masculine and fix the pelvis area which was too short:



Masculizing features:

(i) Thicker eyebrows
(ii) Smaller eyes
(iii) Barely visable eyelashes
(iv) Squarish features
(iv) Smaller head (hairdo)

Sorry, but I've never played Virtua Fighter in my life. So I don't know the characters. This a character of my own design, without copying from something. My fighting game experience mainly comes from The mortal kombat series and the streetfighter series.

Yea, It does look a bit girlish indeed. For someone who's supposed to be a rough streetfighter he sure has a girlish face. I actualy did a girl type of him on the sameÃ,  faceshape :

I've been fiddeling around with his face for some time now, but can't seem to get it just right. But this brings us to:

Luminous
First of all, thank you for your time in doing a drawover. The smaller head is indeed an improved I'll add. Also the smaller eyes and lower pelvis look better then on my original pic.
However I dont think the shoulders needed to be lowered, nor the hands needed a redo, I liked the original hands better IMO.
You also edited the face to make it look more manlier, and made it look more manlier indeed .
Altho it looks good, it isn't the type ofÃ,  face I had in mind for my original character. The squarish features is something ill fiddle around with, but i think I'll give him a slighty slimmer jaw.

Yes, I have. They're both freeware programs you can dowload as far as I know. Altho the newest updates for MUGEN are Linux only. They switched operating systems last time i checked (wich is more then a year ago).
