Title: Painting... needs help.

So... I drew this sketch so I could try out a new painting technique.
The sketch was not too good so I guess it reflects on the colours, and even moreso the fact that I forgot to clean the sketch up before applying colours.
The face got most of the work, colour-wise, and I think it shows and I'm quite pleased with it.
Now, problem is, when it comes to everything else in the picture... I'm stumped. No idea what to do, can't even visualise it with more detail to fit the face...
And then comes the hair, another one of my weak points.

Tips, paintovers or general comments would be much appreciated.

Original sized picture (http://al.xylot.com/guy2.jpg) (quite large).

Well he's a bit short, but it's entirely plausible that you drew a short person. The blue highlight on the short would for me suggest blue lights. And if that was the case I think it needs to appear more. as hair is usually a lot more reflective than the shirt anyway... unless you've painted it brown or something with a matte colour. It would possibly look weird if the left eye (my pov) would be showing, but it's worth a shot... maybe? Nice work on shading the face. I also like the stroke technique.

I like the colors! But I don't understand the white highlights in the face. He sure must have greasy skin ;). Especially the highlights on the lips and the nose seems of, since they are in the shaded part of the face.

Also his head looks so low that i first thought he was shrugging, but then the rest of the body doen't look like it. I'd move the head up if I were you, so it at least seems as if he has a neck.

The belt and the white sleeve rocks a donkeys ass!

He just looks sadly pale. If you want to signify that the light source is white and coming from behind, like you have with the pants and sweater... The back of his head needs to be white too.

Otherise, it's rather good.
