how is this?it is a final picture of Fala senpah & senpah.it is the final picture so i cant edit or remove anything but just to add the bg will animate :)

Atelier

It's good. It's clear what each texture represents (snow, desert, etc).
But wouldn't it do better with labels? And the way the sea is sectioned in some parts looks strange.

It would be nice to have some more [coherent] background information though.

So why do you want critique if it's unchangeable? And what do you mean by "bg will animate? Are you putting animates sprites or is the bg an animation?
And what scale is this map in btw?

On the crit side - while I can tell what is what (desert, grass, snow etc.) it's overly unrealistic. Changes between the types of lands are to abrubt. Beaches are on some coasts but on others (like snow) it goes to into the ocean. And gradients on surfaces (especially that island top right) is just strange and seems put there without any reason.

And since I haven't played the demo, I can't tell if it's the same style as the rest of the game, but on a map that's pretty important, Cause all the other stuff can be overlooked then...but since you can't change it, you can overlook all this comments anyway.
I don't want the world, I just want your half

Khris

Are you the one who called this picture "final"? Just wondering.

Icey

Well mog.net said he liked it so we should just go with it,I said I can not go back and fix it cause there are 4 sets of pics and I will have to edit the whole thing over and it's way to time taking....if there is really a problem with why don't you come and help us work on it cause I want to see if it was good or not.but that is just my thought though....

Khris

It seems a bit pointless to open a thread for something that's not supposed to be edited anymore, at least in the Critics Lounge.

The image lacks depth, land isn't flat with a pattern, it's the result of pieces of crust being folded into each other, with high folds sticking out of the water. Also, since water is shallower near the cost, it's also lighter there.

I want to see if it was good or not.

It is good in its own way; follow Khris, he gave sound advice to make it look more realistic.
But in future please make sure there's a point to your threads. (Hands up, I'm guilty of this too).

Have a great day.

Icey

Oh I get it,No I did not say it was final~it was mog.net's idea but I did both world maps so I am the one who does not want to make 3 final world maps ;) and if I did I would need more help to make it look more "real"....

Tuomas

From how far is the map 'photo' taken here? Is it the bird's view, or is it like from a satellite, or just some islands near the glaciers?

The upmost big continent/island seems to change from the forest-kind of terrain to grey desert a bit quickly as if there were a wall between the two terrains. And he other desert on the downside of the picture looks like a penis.

To me it seems as if there were waterfalls where the sea/lake changes. Is this correct? Of course this does not need to be too realistic if you don't want it to be, but I too would like to see something standing out from the terrain, some hills, mountains, maybe rivers, perhaps even buildings and such. Little detail will make it look like you put a lot of effort in it. Think about it.

Moogle

you no that's not half bad :) i think i can a so lake or such to the pic.how does that sound icey?
