Photo Coloring

I've recently been taught how to color in Grey-scale photo's in Photoshop.. It's quite effective and I'd like to share it with you:

Wow, that looks great.  I've done some stuff like that in the past, although I've never tried doing a whole photograph before, usually just small parts and highlights (i.e. the "artistic" stuff my photo teacher loves).  Only thing that looks a bit odd is her lips.  Not sure why, but there's something wrong about them.  I think it's that odd bit of dark dark shading in the lower right and the little bit on the far left.

Hey, thanks man.  I've fixed up the lips... Most of that was the result of coloring in the skin and the brush being to big..

Anyways, here's the updated version:



Lips are still kinda awkward.

Evened out the makeup a bit and changed the lip color to make it more realistic..
IMO looks alot better

Made the lips brighter, touched up some greyish areas.. Also have a full greyscale for comparison.

(Recital is the hair colourant that Milla Jovivivivivich advertises, I think)

fiddled with hey eyes and lips

the lips are still weird but i think that comes from the fact that the bw copy was a little washed out, i think that's the majority of my problems with it. everything is washed out

try scanning your own photo or something and colouring that, the quality and detail would sky rocket i believe

It requires a lot of willpower, I can tell you that. Anyhoo, nice stuff, what would be interesting is if you took something that was meant to be black and white (say, an Escher sketch), and made it colour.

That would prove you were worth it!
