thanks Crazy, you were right, i changed it and it looked better but then i decided to change the stance some more:

I'm not much of a pixel artist, but here's an attempt to fix some major issues:




* Fixed proportions
* Removed outlines (outlines work best with high-res, cell-shaded graphics)
* Some shading
* Improved anatomy (still needs tweaking though)

Evil

Arms seem too long. He has a weird stance, but that's mainly because he's "facing" right. Most fighters have their bodies facing more forward. If you google sprites from fighters like Street Fighter, you'll see what I mean. It's still pretty hard to make it look not awkward..

I liked the look of Andail's sprite, but I liked the way the outlines look, so I had a go as well.



Mine looks kinda crappy, as his legs aren't quiet proportionate, but the arms seem a lot less bulky.

thanks for the redraws guys, i really like them but i don't think they fit what i wanted to do. i guess i should have been more explicit, i was really trying to make something that looks more like the early 90's beat em up arcade games. Your redraws look more like adventure game sprites.

I really like the black outlines on the dark parts, i think he looses a lot of depth when i remove them

Also, Evil, i hadn't realised that about the facing forward, i check out some fighter sprites and most of them do seem to face more forward than mine. I guess i'm going to do that on the next ones, for now i'm kinda sick of tweaking this one



-fixed shoulder width
-made arms a little shorter
-changed shading a bit



i guess his left arm still kinda looks wrong, but if i take on row of pixels away it seems to small
