I just don't learn, do I. (Yes, it's about pixelart)

So, yeah. For some reason (I blame solar flares), I've gone temporarily mad and was successfully convinced by a friend to try my hand at pixel art again... specifically, a 32x32 teabag icon. This is what I came up with:

(4x, in case you're interested)

Compared to my previous attempts at this kind of thing, it's... tolerable, I guess, but I'm not really satisfied with it. Any suggestions?

(Also, yay for randomly vanishing for two months.  := )

Not too shabby. Only input I can give is to make the actual tea part of the teabag a little more...erm. I don't know how to put it.

Grainy?

My point is, the tea is just one solid color, and I think it should be mixed up a bit to show texture.

Alright, thanks for the advice. Here's the new version...

...with some added manual dithering (for graininess) and an attempt at anti-aliasing (blatantly fashioned after Khris' paintover). 11 colors, unless I miscounted, although I probably could cut it down to 9 or 10 without much trouble.

Jim Reed

3x

Added some 3D-ishness to the tea inside the bag and reduced colour count to 7

Anyway, the bag doesn't look particulary bad in any of the iterations.

And I was like..Akatosh gone...pffff.. he's just too proud to do that!

I think it'll look reasonably cool if you implement the suggestion both Khris and Jim Reed, but so far it seems just fine by my standards. Doesn't really resembles pixel art, but it's drawn okay for a teabag, though the edits of Jim and Khris, give it a more retro feel in my honest opinion.

Glad to have you back eh!
