Hi there!
I was just working on the sprite of my game's hero. But I feel like something's still wrong. Seems like every part of his body is headed into another direction... Or is it just me?
What do you think of this guy?

Thanks for your comments in advance!Ã, :)
EDIT: De pic above is dee edited voison. Woiked on de jacket and face a lil bit.
I think the sprite looks great.
Maybe it would look even better if you added highlights to the jacket and shoes as well.
really nice.. only a bit like his nose and mounth are just shadows ... :)
You're right, stein, he is facing to the left (right?). But he looks fine anyway, someone who would stand there like wouldn't look like they're just looking or doing anything in that specific direction, rather just an "I'm idly staring into space 'til you tell me to do something" pose. It works fine.
IMO his eyes are a tiny bit too high. Also perhaps black's not the best color (he looks like he's wearing sunnies).
Otherwise excellent.
Dude that's awesome, looks like McGuyver, I agree with aussie about lightening the eyes, maybe give the hair some highlights too. I like the style, post more.
Hey!
Thanks for your crits. I'll make the necessary changes, although I'm still having trrouble picking the right colour for the eyes.
Anyways, thanks a million! :)
Actually I think you are right with the first post, his head and jeans seem to face more to the left whilst the torso seems to face a little more fowards. Still it looks great anyway.
you could make the eyes white with a very small black pupil
MacGyver with ozzy-glasses :D Looks nice, though I think a little highlight here and there, shoes and jacket, as said before, mainly.

Tell me... how do you put a black dot inside a pixel? That'd be handy, I haven't figured out how to do it yet, though.
Change the eyes to a dark green or dark blue. Basically a dark version of what you want his eye colour to be.
you just have to make the eyes out of more then one pixel
Hey!
I've been playin' around a little with the eyes. That's fun... :P

Guess, I should've used more than 3 pixels for the eyes...
i like the one with the sunglasses best... it looks pretty realistic.. what ever u do.. dont use the one with the pupils next to each other... it looks really stupid lol :D
Then again it was called "looking dumb"
I agree. Sunglasses are kickass.

If I was you I'd use this sprite for a diagonal view and make another one for the left view...
Isn't that the guy from Flight of the Amazon Queen only without the hat?
Edit: Thanks Blackthorne. Sure looks like him, modified in the FoA style with muted colors. And where did his groin go? That must have hurt!

Bt
I haven't had much time to help people out lately, but I did a very quick and exceedingly dirty edit to your sprite. It may look rather different since the version you posted is a 3x blown up version that I had to shrink.
A few things I altered:
1. Inconsistent shading between jacket, hair, shoes and pants
2. Redesigned the head (can now do nicer eye animations)
3. altered right arm to be a bit less visible since his torso is turned.
4. Gave him some naughty bits.

I highly recommend that in future if you want to display something larger to use the width and height tags rather than resizing it. Nice work.
