Title: Please comment on my first ever midi...
Post by: Phemar on Mon 22/03/2004 07:57:51

Here it is...
My first ever midi!

It's supposed to be tense, create atmosphere, like when you're waiting for something, etc.

Well, wait are we waiting for? Here it is:

I think it's pretty good for a first midi, but that's my opinion, and you guys are probably ten billion times better than me, and I am just an ant compared to your brilliance etc.

Not bad at all! Just makes me sad... :'(

I think that the instruments should be changed.  And add some notes to the beginning. I changed the Celesta to musicbox and piano to contrabass. It sounds much better this way. Here's the edited ver. : CLICKY HERE (http://www.hot.ee/alpond/music1edited.mid)

Got to say again, it's pretty good!

Nice MIDI, there's nothing wrong with it at all. If it's a "background" piece then I think it would be fine, with Eigen's changes or not. Good stuff :)

You may want to work on it's repetitive nature though, and change the melody or change what the celesta etc.

The texture is very sparse, and for background music that usually works, but if you added more of a harmonic fortification (ie other background instruments) it would sound fuller and possibly add to the atmosphere. But as a first midi I'd say it's excellent. My first midi was probably way worse than this.
