This is a piece that I'm working on for a FPS.  The feel of the game is quite gritty and futuristic. This is the music that will play when players wander through a swamp area.  Exploring the possibility of making it interactive as enemies approach, but that's the programmers job :D

Any feedback would be gratefully appreciated :)

Problem

The theme has a beautiful atmosphere, it fits the setting really well. Futuristic and swampy at the same time - not easy to balance, but you did a great job. :) Also, nice use of filters.
If anything, I'd give the drums a bit more variation instead of just fading them in and out. And if you want to build up more tension, some high pitched strings or synth sounds far in the background might help.

Very nice!  I normally have my speakers set for trance and this was not easy to hear so maybe work with the volume balance a bit?  I'm not sure I get a sense of being in a swamp (a steampunk style clockwork maze came to mind when I was listening) but I'm not sure how far you can push the swamp angle without resorting to bubbling samples and stuff like that.

Nice!  It definitely feels gritty and futuristic, and I love the Eb chord at around 1:15.  I'm not sure I get a "swamp" vibe from it, but that's tricky.  If this were an orchestral piece, I'd put some low, short clarinet runs in there, and maybe some bassoons or ethnic percussion that sounded kinda swampy. I'm not exactly sure how to do do the same with electronic music, but maybe you could put some short runs from some low electronic instrument in there instead.  Pretty weak, I know. :)  Hope that helps somewhat!

I have to go with ProgZmax here, it's hard to hear on my speakers. I've been listening to other sounds on your page and didn't have any problems there. Did there something go wrong with normalizing?

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the feedback.  I was playing with the automation to get the drums to fade in and out as they do, I think that's where the overall volume got affected.  Problem, I agree, I need to vary the drums a bit more.  Thanks everyone for having a listen, I really appreciate your comments :)
