Yeah, Midi Maker rocks. There's lots of errors, but still it's a good program.

What kind of mystery feel are you looking for? Right now it sounds sort of like sneaking-around music. If you want more atmospheric music then I agree with Mr. Flibble. Slow it down and try not to continuously use percussion. Maybe just once in a while. I recommend listening to the museum music from the Dagger of Amon Ra, if that's the kind of sound you want. Nice, but kinda repetitive. I suggest turning down the volume (to about 35-50% -- you want it to be subtle) of that woodblock thingy and delete a few notes in its pattern to make it sparser.

Some high-pitched eerie strings would be nice if done right. Experiment with it. While you're at it maybe put a few bars of glockenspiel every once and a while. And a flute. Yes, a flute.

You can put in as many instruments as you want, but be careful to not have them all playing at the same time. Subtle, mind you.
