This is raptor. He is as stupid as he is adorable.

Here we have Pterodactyl. He is born too early so he has to guard the eggs of his brothers and sisters.
Input please, ladies and gentlemen!
Hahahahah...the first attempt I've ever seen at a cute raptor. And it worked!
Pterodactyl is great also, but I'm not too fond of the legs. Can't think how you could make them better, though...
Why do they both have belly buttons?

That's because he doesn't look like a raptor at all. Still cute'n'funny though..

..to make them even cuter..?
Hahaha! I laughed out loud when I saw that raptor. However, his eyes are bugging me. The Ptero's eyes are okay, but maybe it's cause they make him look asleep.

The space between the Pteros belly and the egg (the white space) feels odd. I think his legs could point a little more toward the viewer, too.
I really like them both LeChuck! Great work.

Should I put some blue in them? Maybe that will help!

Like that! Any better now? I think it makes him look ghostly.

That's not an egg, that's his fingers pointing towards each other!

Does making his knees smaller help?
You could give the raptor some knees, elbows, maybe some more appropriate dino feet? :/ But hells yes that is one cute raptor, I would let it eat me.
Here's another raptor to get ideas:

Actually the one in that picture looks a bit cute too, if you gave your raptor a more raptor-y face with teeth and stuck its tongue out and such like your current pic, it'd look like a raptor and still be adorable. Maybe....

I think he needs pupils, because without them he looks dead (especially with the floppy tongue) as illustrated here:

PS-Despite the fact that that is a
completely worthless paintover, it was fun!
Unless there is some special reason for this art (as a game sprite, or something), for extra cuteness, I suggest having his eyes closed.
The biologist in me is twitching about those bellybuttons, too.

I tried giving him some knees and claws but it didn't look right!

I tried going with this, as both you and Trent mentioned.
Here's a running animation test that's not cleaned up or anything:

Bouncy jump

Bouncy jump with 2 extra frames
Notice the excellent navel animation. Colours are way off because I optimized it too much!
Hahaha, nah, its cool cool to watch..I like the second one looks smoother..and better.
