Title: Roger Wilco C & C - New Walk Cycle

I have recently been working on Roger Wilco for my upcoming (and fairly secretive) Space Quest game.  I whipped these up last night, and they could use some C & C.  I especially dislike The front view, but don't really know what to change.  Help!

5 - 8 - 04
I've added a walk cycle.  I dont have much experience with making these, and I need some C & C pretty badly.  I'm not even sure if these are in the right order.  Please help correct this so I can continue on with shading!   Thanks in advance.

Hey those are pretty cool. ( better than the AGS roger  ;))

The only thing that disturbs me, oh wait, nothing disturbs me...

Something about he shoulders on the front view disturb me.. I think they should be more broad and squareto fit in with the rest..

Or maybe I'm completely wrong!

Really good, looks exactly like ther sq4-5 style, but his ass and his nuts are the same, maybe make them slightly different because it could look weird in the game.

I wouldn't have said it that way, but in the diagonal views, his crotch is quite a bit higher than in the front view.

I agree. The shoulders need work, the 'white' pixels should form a more horizontal line i.e. broad shoulders.

One thing I'd suggest is trying to make the feet (particularly in the profile and diagonal views) a bit more substansive.  They look a bit scrawny at the moment.  On the whole, these sprites are great, though.  Great job!

In the front view, his arms come back in towards the body from the elbow down. Try making them parallel to the body - it should look more relaxed. I agree with Scuthbert about the shoulders.

Also, in the 45 degree rear view, his body is behind his legs. This ties in with Opo's "ass = nuts" theory. His legs should tilt in the other direction.

Nice shading!

Thanks for all the help.  Zootyfruit:  Did you include an image in your last post?  You made it sound like you did, but I can't see it.
Anyways, I have redone the front view almost entirely, and have tried to fix the whole butt-crotch problem on the two diagonal views.  The shoulders seem to look better to me and Roger's belly has lost a few pounds.  Also, i fixed Rog's arms, but I'm not sure if they are just right yet.  What do you think?  Any think else worth mentioning?  Be as nitpicky as you want.

[Edit:]  Drat!  I forgot to fix his legs on that one diagonal view!

Thanks Zootyfruit.  We should see which front view the people like best, and i'll use that.  Personally, I think i like mine better, but I am more than a little biased, right?  :P

Hey nice sprites... i think somebody was refering to crotch and but... they need to be defined and not on the same line... here

and no i'm not obsessed with butts and crotch....

I have no other faults on your sprites... they are FAN-smeggin-TASTIC

They look pretty good, but I do have one complaint, they look almost exactly like the sq4 sprite, possibly a little thinner in the gut, and if you just want the sq4 sprite, you can download that in AGS character format and put it into your game.  Of course then you would have to cite whoever drew that sprite in your references (Mark Crowe?).
Just saying you might want to change him up a little, say a different uniform, stripes, hairstyle.

Fronzel:  I would change Roger, but my game takes place inbetween SQs 3 and 4, and it wouldn't make sense.  My game starts directly after SQ3, and there would be no time to change.  Also, he would hafta rechange at the end of the game.   IMO I think it looks more like the Rog in SQ1VGA.   Anywhoo, thanks for the complements.

KANDYMAN-IAC:  I'll try n fix that.  I dont have much experience drawing crotches and butts from various angles (weird, huh?) so I'll just have to try some more i guess, and follow your example.  Um...."smeggin" ?   lol.  Thanks.

I think you should change the skin tone so it doesnt look like he is sunburnt. The only reason sierra used red for faces in sq4,kq5, and others was due to the fact the sprites in the first sci point and clicks were 16 colours.

Will do Pirate Jack.  Come to think of it, he does look slightly sunburnt.  I will try to have walk cylces finished this week, but I also don't want to rush em.

*Bump Bump*
Assuming I can eventually correct the walk cylce, what program do you guys suggest I use to animate it, so I can upload it here?  I am currently using Microsoft Gif Animator, but I want something better, if possible
