hello all, just want to post a concept image i've had for a western adventure game, i don't believe there have been many westerns and/or funny ones at least in the video game business......

this is the unamed stranger, the basic idea for my game is that you are a lone stranger who has arrived, try to be a hero, problem being the town all ready has a hero and this town aint big enough for the both of them,

this is just concept art and my game idea is very vauge at this point hopefully will get some time to flesh out my ideas soon enough...

Gilbert

Love it already, very stylish, the line style and the pose is good too. Really want to see some animated goodness!

sorry for double posting, just quickly skected up another character briefly
this guy's named horse, a coal miner with very little intelligence, only desire is to smash things......

notice the pick axe, that horse is carrying it is a regular size pick axe just to give you the enormous size of horse

Gilbert

Really nice also, but if you want to exagerrate on Horse's size I think you can draw his head even smaller.

I don't want to dissuade you, but there are several comedy Western adventure games out now or in production. The Westerner just won a bunch of awards in The Inventory, Himalaya Studios is working on Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine, and Chapter 11 Studios is working on Rise of the Hidden Sun. (I swear all the most hotly anticipated games take place either in the wild west or around a lagoon.)

Your sketches look great, so why not jump onto the bandwagon!

..

Great potential, just stick to it.

Have you read the Adventure Architect articles at [link=http://www.adventuregamers.com]Adventure Gamers?[/link] They'll help you a lot with tips for expanding a game idea, especially as they follow the production of the Rise of the Hidden Sun Snarky Mentioned, which is a western.

The character style you've chosen is great and I can't really fault them, they have great personality.

One thing i did notices is in your first picture the legs just strike me as being far to wide at the top and look slightly out of place.

Keep it up though :D

thanks for all the usefull replies, this all has been very usefull,
some more idea's on this is:

i want it to be a free roaming style where you can move across a world and do task's in a free manner, rather than do something then progress, how ever there may be spare of the moment things such a burning house, or a damsel in distress, and you have to try become the hero by winning people over, and saving people, also by beating the opposing hero... dunno, from what i've read through the instructions it all looks possible...hope i can pull it off

Quotebut if you want to exagerrate on Horse's size I think you can draw his head even smaller

yeah i was thinkin' the same thing, it probally will exagerate his stupidity also,

this too i've noticed, i wanted to try exagerate "crotch heavy" stature to enphasis on cockyness :P however your right i may have pushed his legs a little too far forward, not too worry this is just concepts, i'll make sure i get it right for the game

that's ok, i'll check them out and see what they're like to inspire me,Ã,  if this were the case we'd only have aÃ,  one pirate game (MI), one police game and so onÃ,  :)

again thanks too all those who have repsonded this will halp me greatly thanks
