I cant get a smooth backround because what I draw comes out too big in the game

when I draw a backround in pain thats 320 x 200, which takes up the whole screen in the game, the whole thing is all jagged and blocky. This is because the size of the canvas in paint is very small for 320 x 200. If I could use the whole screen in paint and then import it at the same size into the game, it would be perfect. I know its possible to have smooth, nice looking backrounds so how do I do it?

Scummbuddy

You go to Image, then attributes and then increase the size of your canvas.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

Scummy, when I increase the size of the canvas in Paint, the backround will just be larger than the size of the screen and scroll. It will still be all blocky.

Archangel (aka SoupDragon)

Like I say, mongoose, go to game-->set game resolution in your ags editor, and choose 640x400. Then your graphics can be twice as detailed.

I agree with arch
if you want smoother backgrounds use 640x400
