Title: Scaling, which scale do you prefer?
Post by: Sean on Thu 08/02/2007 20:47:58
Hey,

I've been playing around with some backgrounds recently and I'd like to know which version you prefer...

Edit: The room isn't finished by the way, window and some other bits gotta go in!

I definitly like the remastered version a lot better. The room looks more natural and you can see details much better. Anyhow, great work, man!!!

It's way too dark.

Hehe, check out the histogram:

Seriously, turn down the brightness of that bright lamp you call your monitor.

New version is much better. I never saw a bathroom with a ceiling as high as the first one, and why waste all that screenspace on the sides. But as the others are saying, it is very dark. The muted colors remind me a bit of the style used in Darkseed.

Hmm.... even with my monitor turned down from 75 Brightness and 75 Contrast to 25/25.. I can still see the image fine!  :o

It is a horror themed game, so things are meant to be dark/gloomy. However, if people think this is too dark, I'll try and work on it.

As for the other comments, thanks.. I was pretty sure the second was more effective and I just wanted some reassurance!

Back in a bit, with something a little brighter  :D
