Title: School character C&C
Post by: OneDollar on Sat 22/05/2010 23:14:09
Hey guys, I spent the morning pixeling this character. He's a school kid and supposed to be towards the more science-y electronics-y end of the spectrum. Not an out and out nerd, but quite geeky.

Regular size...

...and x3...

There are areas I'm not happy with, but I'd love someone else's opinions. Thanks!

Speaking as official representative of the science-y and electronics-y demographic, I have to say, while he looks both very good and very functional, his appearance suggests a more bookish personalty than a geeky one. Maybe it's the colors or the tie. Not sure.

Blazers don't usually button at the neck. You should be able to see his shirt and tie down to his stomach or so. Otherwise, very nice. You might want to move his arms towards his body a bit and rotate the hands to avoid the effect of him having his forearms and the top of his hands facing the viewer (ie. his palms facing behind him).

His arms look a bit wierd. They're very loose, there's no sense of weight. (in my opinion)

Thanks for the critique everyone. I'm working on another game for a week or two, but I'll be back with an edit once that's done. Meantime if anyone's got anything else to add I'd love to hear it.
