As the restrictions were "Use your own graphics", I've modified Juncmodule's template a bit. :) But other than that, the graphics are entirely my own...
How does it look?

Looks like the August winner.
That's good motivation to keep on working on it, then. ;)
Very very nice...
The character looks a little small, and the door looks rather big. Since you have a deadline, though, there's really no need to change it.
Trap, thanks on that. I'll see if time permits me to alter the door a bit... I do hope so, since now it's VERY large compared to the main character.
Also, I've spent some more time on this game today and finished the second room (it's a 4-room affair in all). Also have the first supporting character in there. (Total of 4 supporting characters). So, does it have that nice retro 320x200 feel?
(I've never tried doing this kind of work. Before, it was all cartoony wacky 640 x 400 stuff I did.)

NICE!
getting a MI/broken sword feeling just by looking man!
Definetly reminds me of the old MI games etc..
Love the style, looks like a winner to me too :)
You've got a very distinctive style, and that's always a good thing!

I would make the building a bit more interesting by adding perspective. Also, the door could be a bit smaller. Look at the woman behind the counter, her head is at the same height as the door knob.
Other than that, I think you did a great job.

I seem to have a door-proportion problem. :)
Anyhow, I've finished all the rooms. And only one more character to go... About 70% of the scripting is done, so all that needs to be done now is the grand finale.
Why do I feel reminded of the Indiana Jones adventures (Indy 3 & 4)?
I'd exchange the sign and the door (which should be scaled in height to 2/3 and maybe getting a little smaller).
And maybe the "background" (sea and sky) should get some more depth.

PS. I must be getting stupid because of the masses of typos I produce today. :)
everything is fine... but guess what - the proportion is wrong
