Made my first walkcycle. Not completely done yet, (some jumping pixels and arms aren't moving yet) but I don't think it looks too bad. Tell me what to do now, because I'm too tired to think...  ???

The legs are great, Nice how the light catches the leg when it comes forward!

The arms, however, are not. Absolutely nobody keeps their arms stiff when walking. Try to have them swing back and fort a bit. And if you can, try to rotate the hip and shoulders too.
It's a very good start, though.

As I said in my first post the arms aren't done yet. I'm going to do them tomorrow. (The legs were a b****, and I'm tired ;) )
I just wanted to check if the legs were OK. Well... nighty, night.

EDIT: Oh... BTW. Could anyone give me a clue on how to draw a cave wall? Maybe even whip up an example?

Wow! That walkie sure as hell is better than my first one!

I love it, that is a very good walkie!

One thing: The way the feet tend to squash themselves against the floor looks a bit off.

Great Walkie!

The lighting on the pants is magnificent. Can't wait to see the finished version.

But i would agree with Zor concerning the guy's shoes. They look like they get squeezed together when they hit the floor.

Nacho

Yes! I think that changing the arms we got something promising here... It actually reminds me in some way the nice and smooth animations in BASS! how many frames have you used for it?
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

YOke

Far: I used the "usual" 8 frames. I only made the first four (by chopping and stretching his legs and adding shade and highlights) then I flipped his legs horizontally. Worked out nicely and saved me a bunch of time :)

Zor: hihi... They do, don't they. I'll fix that tonight when I get back from work. :)

Thank you all! My self esteem is rising rapidly ;)

when doing a walk, the whole body has to move, not just hte legs.

i know you said his arms wikll move, but the rest of teh body.!!

BerserkerTails

That has got to be, some of the best shading... I've ever seen...

Seriously wow. I can't wait to see what you do with the body!
I make music.

YOke

My bad. I should have been more specific, but yeah. I will also add a "sway" in the upper body. But since the walkcycle has to match from the side and from the front, I am thinking about doing the arms from the side first as they IMO are harder to get right than the legs. But enough of my ranting.

Wow! You did an excellent job, have you thought about making a tutorial? What were the steps you took to make them legs so well? I know you did some cuting and stretching but how exactley did you do this....

InCreator

Super good shading on pants, not that good on shirt. Walkcycle is good, and will be even better if guy would move his hands a bit, and head by a pixel or two, too.
