Well, our last band disbanded due to scheduling conflicts, illness, and a death in the family, and plus our last name was, well, sort of emo.

Anywho, the one other guy who's in the band with me right now are going to restart everything from scratch, so I'll start off with our new logo.

The Jekyll and Hyde Effect- A punk rock band with a touch of ska. Right now we're still working on our debut album, so we're still trying to think of a name for that (we've got a few songs written)

Among the album names are:
-Life at the Carnival (the album could be about a guy who runs away from home, become a man, and then realize it was his family he wanted all along)
-Death of a Hero (could be about an old man in a hospital dying, and he's telling his life story to a young man)
-The Odds of Failing (showing a guy standing on a mountain of school papers with F's all over them)
The fediverse needs great indie game developers! Find me there!

Sounds cool. Is this a Christian band like your other one? By the way, did your other band release any albums and/or songs? I'd really like to hear them. Oh yeah, critique- well, the guy in the picture looks good, the monster looks too.. werewolf-y. Life at the Carnival sounds like a cool name.
I'm composing the music for this game:

It never seizes to amaze me that so much starting bands are worrying about their album names and covers, before even having enough songs to fill an album, and sometimes not even having a complete line-up.

First get a complete band, then practice until you get enough songs to perform, then perform some gigs, and then maybe you can start about thinking about how to call your album.

Somehow a lot of starting bands have more website than music. :)

The image looks great to me, though I agree with that you shouldn't be naming your albums before you've written the songs.

My own other niggle would be the potential copyright issues from using the phrase Jekyll and Hyde. As far as I know, the book is still in print and people making TV adaptions and the like are paying roayties for the privilege.

Although, it is a nice phrase :)
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

Jimmy is right!

In my experience, I wouldn't start on any artwork until I have about 9 songs completed, otherwise I don't have a feel for how the artwork should fully portray the music. Punk rock ska, with a dark cover? Let me show you some covers, and you tell me what kind of music you'd expect:

Yes, it does seem premature to be worrying album an album so early in the band's life.

And the you have a few songs written, so how can you know what the name of the album should be before you know what the overall theme of all the songs will be?

Once again, your band name reminds me of some other bands. The _______ ______ effect? Like.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Butterfly_Effect_(band)

I do like the idea and imagery in the artwork though, although I'm not sure it will fit your music unless it has a dark edge. And that does look more like a werewolf..

Ah, this is fun! For the first cover, I would expect some sort of Creedish emo, for the second cover I would expect some sort of brit/surf pop. For the third cover, I would expect some electro/synth/industrial mojo. I don't know these bands, so these are wild shots. :)

My thoughts exactly :D :D

Not bad at all Oz! And proving how well an album cover can convey the music! I deliberetly picked some artists people probably wouldn't know.. mostly.

Anyone are psychedelic metal, so you weren't far off!

GoodShirt are An Australian indie band sounding a bit like brit pop!

And Matt Barker is me. And that album was indeed electro/synth/industrial! Yay!

So.. right now the Jekyl logo suggests metal/emo music more than anything. Even the band's name isn't punk or ska-ish in the slightest.   :( That is my blunt and honest opinion.
