Hey again. Well, like I said, I'm back with my character. I think that I did a nice job with the shading, but I still want someone to tell me what they think of it.

MarVelo

yes,,....,,,..

nice shading. Now if (he/she/it) didnt look so flaming insane, it would be quiet a nice sprite. And why an image thats 20X as big as the sprite?

BlankLGPsm1081

Thanks for making it smaller. How'd you do that? Oh, when you say he looks insane, are talking about the eyes? ;D

AlbinoPanther

what program are you using for your graphics ???

basicly you need to make a new blank image with a smaller resolution and just copy and paste your sprite in it.If you want that BG behinde sprite is transparent just delete everything(or chouse transparent bg when you create new image in your graphic prog.(or just download ArtGem 1.3 it is the best thing for beginers and in it your new image is allways transparent it is realy useful)) and save it in PNG(with apha 32 chanel) format or just in GIF.

note: if you don't find ArtGem pm us.

Just go and create new image with smaller resolution 88x139 and be sure that you set background to transparent and just copy your existing sprite in it and delete all white color behinde it.

save our img to hard drive and open it in PS to see what are we talking about.

note:dont use transparent sprites in AGS just use them with a single color BG behinde them.

Oh my God we sound like we know something :P

So, what will this do for me?

AlbinoPanther

You could post normal images(not that KING KONG sized like your first post)

And people will think that you are cool ::) :P

Nice sprite! Better than i can do :P

I did what you told me, and used the forum's uploading tool. Okay, now, does anyone have any suggestions as to what should be changed, if anything?

MarVelo

Good Job! ;D But Posting two replies in a row (aka double post) is a no no. (There is a modify button in in the top-right of the post)

Anyway!!!!!!!!!!!...............

The eyes should be the same. The head is quite wide. Can't tell the sex of this fellow/woman. Body is in a very uncomfortable position like thisÃ,  Ã,  Ã,

Sorry bout the two posts in a row. I wasn't looking. The head could probably be made just a little smaller. I need some help with showing the gender of him.

plus the shorts look like a dress, and he is wearing little sockies and tiny shoes, that's okay, but really girlish

no ?
Not much time for gaming neither creating, but keeping an eye on everything :)

Maybe he could use some ears as well  ;D

Made a quick and sloppy paintover: Added some shape to his feet, moved the head, so that it actually is centered between the shoulders, moved his right arm closer to the body, added some space between the legs on his shorts and made the shoes more shoe-like.

BlankLGPsm1081

COOL!!!!  ;D I like that! How did you center it up? I just can't figure out how to pick different body parts and move them.

Hey guys, I've downloaded ArtGem. Haven't used it much yet, but it looks like it's a really good program. All I need help with is how to create layers on a .gif file, or any other photo file.
