Howdy.
I'm trying to create a sort of image of say, Turkey, in the morning. There is an aura of mystery, and everyone is closing their doors and looking away, almost scared.
Anyhoo,

Pretty cool, it would work well in a tense game cutscene.

Here is an edit with some ideas:
Click me.
-since you mentioned Turkey, the edit uses ethnic instruments,
-changed the bird tweet so it doesn't get too repetitive
-made the bird tweet shift from the left to right speaker and back to the midle
-added a percussion track
-added some pitch changes to make it more interesting

Hope this helps.

Thanks Damien, that's a great edit!!
I especially like the whole ethnicity of it all, did you by chance throw a few timpani hits in there??
Anyhoo i'll have an edit based on your suggestions by 24 hours.

I have to agree, the edit was great.

Really? When I was listening to it I was under the impression that this would be the music playing while the character walks through the Turkey village.

I can't really imagine a cutscene with this kind of music.

Perhaps not a serious tense cutscene, but perhaps a sort of cutscene that sets the mood. Birds are screeching. Cars are being driven etc.
Sort of like the opening sequence in DRIV3R, which, coincedentally, had a lot of the game in Istanbul!

The edit was nice, but I'm not so sure about the "screeching birds" in either version. I think I'd go more for capturing the car horns - maybe use some instrument (not sure what Turkish instruments are out there) to simulate those whiny, European-style car horns. "An American in Istanbul" maybe? :)
