Title: Short music sample
Post by: Blade on Fri 31/12/2004 11:20:03
This is my first in life midi sample. It lacks ending, is quite easy and monotonuous. Made it with Anvil. Features a rythm, acoustic and electric guitar. Supposed to make game's main theme.
It sucks and I want you to tell me what should I do with it. Especially what instruments to put and where.

Here's the file:

It's odd, because the intro suggested a mellow, laid back style, and then you went into this generic-based rock-lite, which was sort of underwhelming. However, using pitch wheels and volume controls, and sorting out the section near the end where you totally lose the rhythm, it could be decent.

Changed the melody a bit though it's still not got an ending. New version is in the link at first post.

Ideas:

Low bass.

80's style backbeat later in the song.

Maybe a pad playing chords, or some sort of chordal instrument. Maybe even a funky rhythm guitar.

I've added a bass track. Still have not came to an end and I know this tune lacks something.
