Title: Small animations (now complete)
Post by: Igor on Tue 13/04/2004 13:07:37
Here's a complete set of animations i was working on (and also posted here one of them before). The whole thing is not completely colored yet and last animation is not entirely finished (butterfly aniimation and morph in logo, also some sounds are missing). But it's mostly done.

I'm especially currious what do you think about sounds and coloring (it's *very* simplistic).

I liked it a lot.

I viewed it before I read the full post and one thing I was going to comment on was some of the coloring, but since you commented that's it not completely colored yet, I shant (http://www.twin-design.com/fafmb/graphics/smilies/smilies_smile.gif)

The sounds were very cool.  The slight 'echo' effect (that's how it sounded to me) were subtle and non-offensive.  (some sound can be VERY annoying).

Animation was excellent and VERY stylistic.  Very fluid and easy on the eyes.

Great job!

yeah, I really liked the style of these. I love sketchy style art and the colouring seemed fine to me. You animated it extremely well, show us more when you have the time. The sounds were good and made up for the lack of voices (unless you plan on using voices on newer animations). :)

That's great!

The simplicity is irrelevant when you give it such personality.

As I already mentioned before, I really like this style. The colours are great too, because it adds personality and differentiates the different courses you're promoting with this series of animation (this is for a school/educational instance, right?).

If I may comment on a specific detail: The camel ride animation (geographics course?) is much more 'busier' than the other parts. I had trouble, the first time, to instantly see what was happening. I was distracted by looking at details such as the letters 'camel o matic' and the coin machine. Maybe it could do with just a little less detail?

Anyway, I'm nitpicking here. It's always a joy to see your work, Igor!

Thank you all for great comments!
Now that i was listening to sounds again, i think i'll change the explosion sample- too much echo...

DM- while the coloring is not completely finished, i'd still love to hear if you have any suggestions, ideas :)

Ravenfusion- no voices here, as i don't think they are really needed.

Erwin- good point! I was unsure if it is too busy or not. I think i'll take that Kamel o matic sign off and added an extra second or two before the boy take a photo.
Btw, you are right- Rokus is a publisher of school text books and animations are representing 8 classes.

Andail, Privateer, Spoofer4ever, Shbazjinkens-  thanks again, appreciate it! :)
