I'm gonna add a bounce to his step, but I need advice on the cape. Pardon the dots in between his legs, that a gif error

I'd suggest sorting out the walk before worrying about the cape.  His feet look like pistons.  His hands are kinda spacky, too.

If he's bouncing, it would change the way his cape moves, so any suggestions made now would have to be changed for the added bounce.  However, I would sugest putting dark shading at the bottom of his cape, rather than light.

i believe he doesnt really look like hes walking because you have no movement in the rest of the body except feet and hands.  the shoulders, and the rest of the arm should change in each frame even if just slightly.  maybe his head could change a tiny bit too..and add and subtract a few pixels from each side of his cape each frame to suggest movement.

the upperarms should also move when he walks, and make a bounce in his movement! Furthermore, it looks pretty good.

To me it doesn't really look like he's walking. It looks to me that the legs and hands are just moving up and down.

the hand moves too high up thats the problem, its also only moving in one frame, i think it should be gradually moving to the apex as the leg does.

Legs still look like pistons.

well...it looks to me as though the arm is all the way down one frame and all the way up the next and it is a pretty big jump.  if there is a frame inbetween these, it's hard to tell...but it seems like the jump is too sudden and too much.

I like the cape.  It moves pretty good.

The legs ...

When the right leg is up/forward the left leg should be back.  This can be achieved with simple shading and one pixel shift to achieve.

I don't have the time right now ... but if nobody else does an edit I'll make an edit later!

On the sprite sheet I created I tried to attempt that by shading the knee thats sticking out gradualy through the frames, It didnt show in the gif. I think I understand what you mean and will attempt it later

Looking good! It's definatley improved quite a lot! Another fine example on how the critic's lounge can be effective.

A quick suggestion though, perhaps remove the blink of his eyes from the walk animation. I personally don't blink every second step I take, and it just looks a bit, too much.

Didn't turn out as well as I'd like ... but I'm tired ;)

Hope it helps!

Another thing. Both arms should be swinging each time he steps. You only have the arms swinging forwards, and not behind him. When one arm is going foreward, the other should be going behind. Nice character.

Darths edit is very good in showing how to do the legs thing.

Oh yeah, as Berserker said, you should take out the blink. Maybe put that in an idle animation, but it looks strange in a walkcycle.

Is it just me, or is Darth's edit moving each side's arm and leg at the same time?  If so, it should definatley be switched to opposite arms and legs at the same time.   Maybe he did, and I looked at it wrong or something....but whatever.

just my 3 1/2 cents

EDIT:  Never mind.  It looks like he did do it right.  It was hard for me to tell before, but I see now.  Good Work Darth Mandarb and LostTraveler!
