I've decided that I would like some feedback on some of the recent photography work I've been doing in class. I'm very proud of how these are turning out. I would like anyone's opinion on them. I don't really want crit, but I will take it either way.. Just don't expect me to reprint the picture or something... :-p

Anyways, you can look at all my photography here.

But the newer, dark-room printed stuff is in the last two pages:

I notice you're using a lot of black and white.
Almost to the extent where you're using it as a resort to 'up' the image.

Granted, turning a photograph to b&w adds a LOT of atmosphere to an otherwise dull or maybe over-crowded picture. It can be a good way to bring out a good composition or lighting contrasts if the colors themself are too distracting from what you're trying to photograph. I think this one is a good example of where you applied it well.

But it would be a lot more challenging to try to go for a good picture without having to resort to b&w.

Don't get me wrong, most of the pictures are quite nice, some even beautiful. But being a good photographer is also about working with colors, how they complement eachother and thinking 'out of the box' to get that great angle or stunning light effect.

Good luck!
Almost intentionally left blank.

Most of my "good" black and white photos are actually from a black and white class I am taking right now. Granted, I have worked with color before... But certainly not to the extent I have taken to make most of my black and white pictures.

"The Swim Hall" picture you linked was actually developed and printed in a real dark room. I should've explained that further. The pictures on my site are mixed between Color SLR, Black and White SLR, and Digital. Now that you've brought it to my attention, I should probably re-organize that section of my site so it is cleared up for future viewers.

Thank you, of course, for your kinds comments and input.

Edit: Photography section is revamped. Have a look see. :) The only downfall is that the two pictures linked to in the above threads will now be 404ed. Just add "/bw/" after "photography" and before the filename.
