Post by: Bastos on Thu 06/07/2006 23:04:53
Hello all,

here is some work from me in Photoshop.
It's based upon a screenshot from pq1.

Feel free to comment or make improvements....

Upon first glance it looked like she had three breasts and no right arm but after my eyes worked it out it actually looks good now. Just my brain expecting one thing and seeing another.

It looks pretty good, although it would be easier to tell it there are problems if the text box wasn't there ^_^.
A suggestion: unless you plan on doing a straight remake, I would update her look a bit... she looks kind of 80's-ish, especially in the clothes.
One other thing: some of the cloth wrinkles look a little strange, particularly the cloth wrinkle on the boob nearest us (it seems to indent too much).  On her arm, there are wrinkles below, but above there are no folds, which looks a little awkward.
It's looking pretty nice so far, keep it up ^_^

It's really good. The only thing I can see that needs correction is what BunnyMilk mentioned. You should highlight the left breast to define it and leave the armpit shadow as it is. You might also want to remove the motion "feel" the hair has and make it more like the original.

I indeed tried to stay true to the original.... Bunnymilk, your comment on the left arm are so true.  Funny i didn't see it before that the arm at the left.  The folds, indeed don't look that good.

Also the fold on her breast, is indeed a bit too much...

Thank you for your comments.

Why do all AGI Sierra girls look manly? This seemed a problem when someone was doing some LSL VGA remakes as well.

That's a problem with the 80ies and the early 90ies, Babar... How I hate that lacquar fashion!!! Remember how manly Madonna looked? :)

My crit is... that I can't really crit! As Lady Potato said, remove the text box... I'll try to post here my crits, save this space for me.

Well, i think the problem of the manly look is mostly because of the ega graphics.... 16 colors is not much to make a nice looking face, so in that way, i still think for that time, they look pretty good.

Making them into vga is probably more difficult then just creating a new one from scratch, because you have to stay true to the original wich only has few colours.

Well i don't think i 'll take time to remove the textbox... i just was bored and started filling up the old screenshot.... it was never the intention to recreate it fully, but at the end, it looked pretty good, so i also did the dress and the face.....

Thanks for all the comments....

Why not make just slim her left arm a little?  Not only that, like said, EGA isn't the most idea thing for close ups and such, so the final product kind of has a bit of a spoon-face.  That said, her clothes remind me of somekind of latex/dipped cone hybrid, though since I've never used anything more complex then MSPaint, I can't help you out more than that.
